Hello, I'm not sure what I've done, but now when I run restart x from the logout choices, it fails to come back - it just stops at a lighted black screen...
This must be something I did, because a fresh usb install does not do it...

encrypted save file and usb keyboard
Hi, in the bugs on github, there is a solution to the usb keyboard issue. I experienced this problem too. However, I tried downloading the initrd1.xz-hid-dd-nopae from github and it would not download. Nor would the link in the forum thread. Would you be able to repost it? Also, once I download it, ...

Hi. I really appreciate all the replies! Thanks. I tried the rockedge method - it boots just fine - but, no splash is displayed. I also tried Sailor's method, bots and supports the savefile, but again, no splash is displayed. The splash is not my interest, but rather the ability to press F2 and F3 t...

Hi Mike, I would like a proper Install to the usb, ideally. I tried going through Puppy Installer, but it seems to only be able to clone the current Puppy (so I couldn't used tahrpup to make an lxpup stick, for example). Would you recommend using unetbootin, or something else? Galbi - the attempt wa...

USB LxPup won't boot after first save
Hello, I tried to make a bootable usb of LxPupTahr-15.12.1-nopae.iso. But when I went to boot, it did not display an image 'lxpup', nor give the f2 and f3 options. Making a savefile seemed successful - rebooting detected the savefile, and accepted the password, but then there were just error message...

Hello all, I was perusing some of these posts. Does this not seem sexist to any of you? Some people wonder why fewer women are involved with linux than other areas, and it is my opinion that atmospheres like the one hovering over this thread contribute to it. I don't think this really belongs on Pup...

Crashing Firefox 46.0
Hi, Firefox has been crashing a lot lately. Both the QuickPet version and a version from PPM have crashed. Sometimes it just keeps crashing, sometimes it is okay. I have the latest flash installed, but don't know if it is flash related. PPM firefox just crashed repeatedly at http://www.1001freefonts...

package finder script
Also, another approach (which has been as of yet unsuccessful for me) would be this missing package finder script:
https://www.ctan.org/pkg/texliveonfly?lang=en
It might be useful to keep things smaller.
Any ideas on getting it running?

installer issue
Hi rockedge, okay, so that makes the installer work, so thanks ! Hi emil, I used the installer, but I tried setting a different location (options, then 'L') to /mnt/sdd1 (which is just big usb). Then I chose portable install. But it insists on installing to /usr/local/texlive ! I think that part of ...

Okay, I'm sure that someone on these forums could host those files! They might be useful. Does anyone have any idea how to add .sty files ? It would be great if the filesonthefly tool I mentioned above worked, but I just spent a while on the LaTeX IRC to no avail. And the command tlmgr to add the pa...

This is what I was looking for !
Hello recobayu ! This is great ! I downloaded your texlive and texstudio pets. They worked beautifully on a fresh Tahrpup 6.0.5 live-usb ! I had spent hours last year trying to figure this out for LaTeX and voilà, your pets work quickly, no issues. Could you try to get this into the official repos (...

Bigpup, the boot error is the only thing that appears. Nothing else. Now, the splash screen never appeared normally because I disabled it. But no other Puppy text appears. It is immediately after booting. Semme output of fdisk. root# fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 40.0 GB, 40007761920 bytes 255 heads, 63 s...
