The problem was not isolated to Firefox 46 - the quickpet Firefox also had issues... I have tried to modify the gtk-theme-name to default - thanks for the suggestion. It seems okay so far.

Hello, I tried to make a bootable usb of LxPupTahr-15.12.1-nopae.iso. But when I went to boot, it did not display an image 'lxpup', nor give the f2 and f3 options. Making a savefile seemed successful - rebooting detected the savefile, and accepted the password, but then there were just error message...

Hi, Firefox has been crashing a lot lately. Both the QuickPet version and a version from PPM have crashed. Sometimes it just keeps crashing, sometimes it is okay. I have the latest flash installed, but don't know if it is flash related. PPM firefox just crashed repeatedly at http://www.1001freefonts...

Also, another approach (which has been as of yet unsuccessful for me) would be this missing package finder script:
