Well, I accidentally downloaded corepup, so I'll be seeing what it's about soon :) I'm not quite sure what you're after, but I've always admired a lean, clean pup. BrowserLinux501- at 90 some odd megabytes - stood out to me as an ideal pup, but that was a long time ago. It was a beauty. I've been st...

Thanks, 8Geee et al.

Thanks, rg66! Yeah, there is so much confusing info out there about those xfce config files. Lots of it seems to mention files that don't seem to be present on X-Precise. Anyway, if I get too frustrated, I now have Geoffrey's Xmenumaker to fall back on. But I'll give the files you mention another go...

Am I by any chance over looking an an easy graphic menu editor for the main applications menu? Hate to ask another stupid question, but even finding the config files for that menu in xfce is proving to be an undertaking. I'll happily edit by hand if I find it. Beyond that X-precise-2.2 has become my...

Re: Focuswriter

Geoffrey, good find on Focuswriter! I really like the way it behaves, and it is, as advertised, distraction-free. It'll be nice to use when writing something of any length.

Thanks for packaging that one - it's a keeper.

Re: xfce workspace switcher

Should be... R click taskbar/panel, choose Panel>+Add New Items>Workspace Switcher (scroll to near bottom). That's where it's located in Carolina (XFCE), anyways...? Bob Doh! You're absolutely right, Bob. Thanks so much. I kept pounding on the panel preferences and the control panel, but completely...

xfce workspace switcher

Does anyone know where the workspace switcher for the panel might be found? I looked in workspace settings, but couldn't find it.

I added a workspace and I know I can switch with the key board or mouse, but I've always liked the visual of a pager.

TIA, and thanks again for an awesome pup.

Re: SOX

jrb, your .pet works on X-precise-2.2 (a beautiful pup) which is precise 5.7.1 IIRC.

Thanks so much for sharing! I use sox as a brown noise machine at night.

Nice, Nice, Nice

Oh my, this may be the pup that I've been waiting for. Booted it for the first time 15 minutes ago, put the panel on top, changed resolution, and somehow got online tethered to my phone after copying Klink over and installing it. (Klink is a .deb from the Android/Google app store that gets me online...

re: name It doesnt matter what its called but we do need to call it something when we do release the beta to a much wider public audience. I wonder if we can just call it Linux or something. Well, I still call my 228mb Felis . The 90mb is named Barely Legal . But if you're going in a totally new di...

no matter what bootloader ends up in pussy, puppy people can still just copy pussy files to hdd... That's what I do; I've got the pussy live-rw file in an ext2 partition when I boot from POS beta CD. If I want puppy, I boot from the puppy CD and it finds my pup savefile. I haven't bothered with a b...

this is ofcause unless you wanna keep pussy or pussy linux or pussy operating system. But POS has its own problems as a name. FWIW, I labeled the partition where the Pussy live-rw file resides Felis , short for Felis Domesticus Linus. I call the CD with the xtras Pussy Galore , and the 205mb CD is ...

Payoon , I used your help from earlier in this thread for connecting with a DSL modem, but still needed gettextbase, whiptail, and libnewt.so.0.52 for generating the dialogs for pppoeconf. I don't know why my experience was not quite as straightforward as yours. Thanks for your help - I was able to...

Thanks for that! Dillo's come a long way since I last tried it. Maybe these little
tweaks will make it easier to work with (though I found that green kinda
soothing).

So odd that it would fail on the laptop with such a specific complaint. Oh well, thanks again for your help and thanks to t...

... and also add the network-config program and also the wicd-ncurses console program as well, then i think we have all bases covered. Maybe the menus and the desktop icons can point to network-config by default, with wicd being a seccondary option. If those involve filling out text dialogs boxes a...
