I had problems with printing in puppy 3.01.
I downloaded the pet package that Wolf PUP offered in this blog but I still got an error (foomatic-rip)

After creating the directory /usr/local/etc/foomatic I got output on my hp deskjet connected via an USB port.

Instead of using your cdrom, you can use a usb memory stick.

When you can use dhcp, you can go to the terminal screen and enter:
dhcpcd eth0
test with ifconfig the ip address you got.

I tested it with the final version of puppy 2.13 and now it works fine.

Because this was a problem in the beta version this item is not relevant anymore.
