pfind shows file but different one at location?

How is it that pfind shows a file (over 1g & Last Updated in 2016) but when I do Show Location, or use File Manager to look at that location, it shows a 2011 file that is 1000kb? The file in question is the bookmarks.html file This represents a bizarre roadblock to transferring from one PC to an...

Just tried copying the usual boot files over to a newly assembled computer. I was running Frugal and now am booting from USB. It appears that it is opening the correct Save File but BootManager is looking the wrong place for the SFS files. Can someone remind me where I look for those pointers, pleas...

I've hacked around in this load so much that who know what I may have broken. Project delayed until we return from a large Amateur Radio fleamarket in early Feb, where we hope to find a suitable replacement CPU, then complete the new PC. Will report back at that time & see what things look like....

Count me overloaded ... you are swimming in the deep-end of app/program/scripts & I am dangling my toes in the far-end of that pool. As things are my time is so overwhelmed with work, dealing with 3 teen/college children, trying to replace a vehicle destroyed by a careless-deer, home/property ma...

I'd be very interested in learning more about that program. Or are you just talking about "aero snap" - i.e. drag a window to one side of the monitor and it will resize it to fill that half of the screen? In the list of possible solutions in my first post that is what I was talking about ...

It's not responding & it's late so I'll shut down & try again in the morning before I head into work for a few hours. There's a simple program that does what I want in our son's Microsoft version of windows, so I'd be shocked if the same was not available for the superior Linux version of wi...

I presume when you say there is no effect you mean you tried using the keybindings and they don't work. you running openbox to start with? I don't know about L64, but in most distros openbox comes with more than one configuration file, so you might want to check if the rc.xml file you edited is the...

No, you should just be able to run `openbox --reconfigure`, and you might even have a start menu entry which does that. Console-LHP does not respond to that commend Menu - Openbox - Run opens a window in which I tried that command to no effect I tried the same but ticked the box to run in terminal ...

L64 includes openbox, so why don't you try out my keybindings (+ the last set in the main post at that link, under 1. Move windows to screen corners and edges ) for a start? With them, basically, Win+5 maximises or restores the active window, Win+0 minimises, and Win+any other numpad number resizes...

Way cool! Yes, what I'd like to do is to be able to edit on the left side of the screen and see the result on the right; e.g. when editing HTML or to view news on one side as I email or Twitter on the other. (I get that when editing HTML I'd have to manually refresh the result side.) If you have a w...

Got a new AOC i2769vm 27" monitor, with a display port connector, for Christmas. Just hooked it up (was waiting to complete assembly of a new desktop but decided not to wait). What I'd like to do is to split the 27" display vertically so I may view two different windows at the same time. C...

Ahhh ... OK, thanks ... now why didn't I notice that?

:-)

Is there a Puppy version somewhat similar to X-Slacko Slim that is 64?

I am running JustLighthouse 64 but that's a Slackware-based distro that's not cross-repository friendly.

Has anyone tried the Brave browser with X-Slacko, please?

https://www.brave.com/downloads.html
Brave for Linux comes in two versions:
64 bit .deb for Debian/Ubuntu and 64 bit .rpm for Fedora/openSUSE.

You may note that the most recent post was 2.5 years ago ...

One has to wonder if such problems (due to huge changes in the base distro over that time) may have been why this puplet was abandoned.

It was an interesting concept puplet.

Cool!

I wonder when Kernel 4.8rc will be used as it opens up the possibility of use on tablets such as the Chuwi Hi12.

Thanks!

Is it a complex process to make JavaScript available where it's looking for it?

I'm a long way from even elementary coding any more - beyond some HTML & CSS.

EDIT: Just posted a question to Twitter copied to Brave - hopefully someone there will look here and offer a solution.

Thanks - David
