I did not like Sylpheed. It is very limited (at least for me). So, I have installed thunderbird again from a pet package at: ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/pet_packages-3 (mozilla_thunderbird-2.0.0.4.pet) After a couple of days, the system asked me to upgrade to Thunderbird 2.0...

Eddie,

You just have to boot 4.00 CD having your puppysave file on the machine.

The system will detect it and will display a message asking if you approve the update.

I recommend you to backup your puppysave file BEFORE the update just in case you need it on the future.

Good luck!

It is very easy to install a new Seamonkey version: Just download a "seamonkeyxxyyzz.tgz" package (search on the net) ... ... and run the following command at a terminal: tgz2pet seamonkeyxxyyzz.tgz Above command will generate a .pet package that you can install on puppy. good luck! kkpity

Will fat free run on a Toshiba laptop Pentium II 233MHz with 48M of RAM?

I'm looking for a linux distribution that run on above machine.

I already use puppy 3.01 for another machine and I love this distribution. So, it will be great to continue using puppy for both machines.

Thanks

I've found the package at:
ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributio ... b-3.01.pet

but my question is still pending ;-)

Are the above instructions still valid for puppy 3.01?

Just to make sure someone has already used them on puppy 3.01.

Thanks again

Muggins, I've made an additional test: I've just rebooted my machine with my actual pup_save file and the CrowAmp runs properly. Maybe the reboot is a MUST procedure after its installation. Anyway the program is great. I will just check if the program will still run after the screensaver execution. ...

Hi muggins, I did a little different than you'd suggested: I've booted my system from CD (puppy 3.01) with pfix=ram. I've just installed the CrowAmp .pet and it worked. Maybe I have a package overloading something on my pup_save file that do not allow crowamp to run. I'll investigate a little more. ...

Sorry guys,

I think I've provided a wrong link.

The correct one for 3.01 as "mmm" has suggested is:
ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributio ... packages-2

Sorry again,
