Puppy 32bit and 64bit on the same USB?

Hi guys. I was wondering if it's possible to carry both 32 and 64bit versions of Puppy on the same USB - (since I have two 64bit laptops, and one that's 32bit) and if yes, are there are any complications involved?

Re: On being brilliant

[quote="mikeslr"]Hi Marble42, If it interests you, stick with it. The biggest mistake most people make is underestimating their ability to understand. Learning anything means taking the time to picture what’s taking place and the vocabulary to describe it. Someday, you’ll read a post and s...

Too bad I understand only very little of it, but yeah, still quite exciting reading about it (-:

Not confused. While I don't understand the actual terms, I really love reading about stuff like this. Puppy as an OS in general is very much to my liking. I absolutely love the idea behind it, carrying the OS on a USB. So cool! Additional question: When I have the complete system ready, everything l...

Thanks for answering guys. One question about frugal install on SSD though - if I do it that way, do I still have to use the USB stick every time in order to boot? Until now I only did USB boot and save on USB, or full install (a few years back, as a test only) - I never booted via USB and then did ...

How do live vs. installed Puppy compare in performance?

Probably a silly questions, but since this is "beginners help" section, I figure anything goes. Live Puppy "lives" in RAM, which makes it fast. What about installed Puppy? Installed on a SSD (I have a small one, 30gb). Is there any downside performance vise? I'm guessing installe...

I have a Fujitsu laptop. Will check the BIOS and see what I can find.

And I suppose it is not possible to install Puppy in RAM itself (for those laptops with enough RAM)? That would be cool (and fast) (-:

How to frugal install from USB to SD card?

My laptop has an SD card reader. Is it possible to load Puppy via USB, but then do an install on the micro SD card that will continue to be in the laptop?

I see. Thanks once again @Semme!

I'll just try Fatdog, but eventually I might go back to Slacko again, as long as I can increase the icons size, though overall whether the Frugal install is done via USB 2.0 or 3.0, boot speed isn't altered much, right?

Awesome stuff! Thanks guys!

I am currently downloading Fatdog 64 to give it a go. One question - if doing a Frugal USB install, how big is the difference between doing it on a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0? Does a 3.0 with nice writing speeds (say minimum 100mpbs) make the system load faster?

I downloaded Slacko Puppy 6.3, but I don't really like the 'menu on top' thing... Not sure why that was done? http://puppylinux.org/main/Download%20Latest%20Release.htm Will download Tahrpup 6.0 now and see if that's any better :-) Will also check the "font size from terminal" thing. Gosh,...

How to change my laptop screen's resolution?

Hi guys, I am looking for a Puppy linux version that would allow me to change the resolution on my 13.3" laptop. Default resolution is 1920x1080, but that is just too tiny for such a small screen. I can barely see icons and letters :/ The most recent version (6.3) only allows that one resolutio...

Thanks for the info @OscarTalks! I appreciate it. The one thing I find very useful when it comes to FF is the ability to sync between computers. That being said, I will definitely give the lighter browsers a go. If all pans out nicely transferring bookmarks manually would only take some 10-15 minute...
