This is what is interesting to me, at the Top of menu.lst: "menu.lst produced by grub4dosconfig-v1.9.1" I was thinking that deleting this and menu-advanced.lst would help as I have deleted puppy until later. But can't be sure. EDIT: Just read your post, will keep up on Topic until I hear b...

Screenie is XP?

Don't know what btldr means? bootloader? Using Grub2 now.

Here is everything that I think you are asking for as Attachments, hope this is the right way to post.

Opps, getting this error when trying to post Attachment: "The Extension docx is not allowed"

I do have this from the grub repair tool here

Yes I know, you have been very helpful to me, I don't forget these things! I dug through png's in precise retro for an hour last night to find the one that showed how to reverse Grub4dos with no luck.

Hey guys, have not worked with puppy for a while now as I wanted to get a good distro on pc, then work again with puppy. I tested for a while and realize that Retro is the only one that works reliably. Right now I am having an issue getting into Windows XP. I installed LXLE 12.04 as #2 in Dual Boot ...

Make this program active.
It does what it's title says.
If you do not have it, the pet for the program is here:

When it is activated it will be active from that point on.
This didn't work either, I will reinstall Retro.

Think I need to start over. Lupu and Wary won't stay connected to wifi. I am using the: roadcom BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller driver: b43-pci-bridge bus-ID: 00:0b.0, output from my Mint Install, and think this might be an issue. Although, Precise Retro seems to stay conn...

Thanks bigpup, been exploring all those files. Very confusing to me but an't quiting yet. I see that menu.lst is on sda1 as you said, but in some of the instructions it keeps saying to install grub to a linux partition so was confused as to why it is there? it's all either very confusing or poorly w...

I used lupu guys as Tahr would not boot from this somewhat worthless pc lol. It is a decent test platform though, but it don't have sound, so that prevents me from using youtube to learn some of this stuff! Will carry on at other Thread as I've chosen a pup. I already have 2gb swap on separate parti...

Used Grub4dos, don't like it very well but it's done and can start using it. I will explore more with Grub2 soon as I like that one best, and don't want puppy to be first on Boot nor on sda1. Thanks to bigpup!!!

Re: Maybe Full Install -- Let Mint Xfce 17.2 rebuild Grub

Hi pcpunk, Much as I really don't like Full Installs, in your case I'd recommend it. As you have both XP and Mint Xfce 17,2, my guess is you started with XP and installed Mint. If so, When you installed Mint, it automatically installed Grub2 and made that the bootloader. When you now boot your comp...

I chose to install in Frugal, but think I might do Full Install as the Frugal caused me problems, or something else did, suggestions? General statements like this do not help anyone. What problems? You do what? You see what? By what you have said you have Precise installed. You are probably using t...

Are you kidding, I've been struggling with this for days lol. I have another OS on there, XP, Mint and now hopefully puppy. I cannot use Grub4 as I understand I already have Grub2?

Here is the Thread for the install: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=102036
