Thanks for the reply, jamesbond. The in-tree driver for the hanvon graphics tablets unfortunately is known not to work since it is included in the kernel, so there is this Github-version, and yes, it does rot quite a bit. I suppose the URB part in the kernel changed and the driver cannot handle it. ...

I just recently stumbled upon a problem with FD721. I have an older hanvon Artmaster graphics tablet, not used for a while, and now wanted to pass it on to the kids. They run FD721. I downloaded the driver for the hanvon, compiled it, copied the module to ..../drivers/input/tablet/hanvon.ko but it d...

OK. The samba-issue vanished. I obviously had a ~/.kodi directory before loading the 17.6 sfs. From accidentally manually loading and unloading of the 17.3 sfs, then rebooting. After starting fresh (savefolder renamed), kodi 17.6 just runs after loading the sfs (and the devx, of course). Regarding t...

I added Kodi 17.6 from the SFS Manager, pristine FD721 frugal install. Wouldn't start from the menu. When I started Kodi in Terminal I got missing libraries liblibsamba.something. I installed samba4 (full) in GSlapt, and Kodi started normally. That DVD-issue is as follows: I start DVD playback, ever...

I ttried the Kodi 17.6 SFS. It needs Samba4 fully installed via GSlapt. Then it runs normally. What I've found is that neither Kodi 17.3 nor Kodi 17.6 do decent DVD Playback. They both start, show the usual messages, but never really make it to the menu. When I click randomly on the blank screen, I ...

That MyPaint (with the forced icons) works great. FD720 just got elected the new(and only) OS for my X61 tablet. If someone is interested, I put together a claws-mail 3.10.1 package from debian binaries, including all dependencies and NLS. Does not appear like I can upload to the forum ATM. Even wit...

Any chance for a newer GLIBC (like 2.22) in final? The later claws-mail builds from Debian repos complain and want GLIBC >=2.22. Apart from that, great. Soundcard selector works again. Desktop drive icons work. Boot time is fast. Tested on a Thinkpad R500, T9600, 4GB, 120GB SSD and a Thinkpad X61 Ta...

In more up-to-date Puppies, you might look in the folder /usr/share/applications. There should be a firefox.desktop file. Drag this to the Desktop, rename as you please, et voila. Even the icon is correct. The other way would be to go to find the defaultbrowser file and edit it n a way so that firef...

It is possible to use two soundcards simultaneously. But it is difficult, You need to edit the ALSA configuration file and loop your output from one device to the other. If you search the internet, you will likely find some how-tos. I once did it and was less than thrilled with the results. Actually...

Scanner-share 1.4 adapted for FD 710
I fixed a small issue in the scanner-share script which prevented it from running in my FD 710. The script did not detect the ip adress, and thus would not find the sane server. Adapted one line in the script and now it works. Rename attachment to .txz for FD 710. Actually, should work in all other ...

NFS is an issue in all puppies so far. You need the nfs-utils that I attached to this post. After converting it to FD710 txz package format and installing this, it usually works, maybe have to tweak some options. Converting to txz format works straightforward by clicking on it, then FD recognizes ol...
