Why revert to Mint?

Hi, i just wondered why revert to a full complex distro, non portable like mint? Not that i don't like it but if you were diving at Puppy's world and didn't get to work PyRoom on FatDog64 you could try Puppy Precise 5.7.1, Puppy Slacko 5.6 / or newer made by 01micko. I'm sure they are perfectly comp...

SOLVE? Kind off...

By reading a few pages, i arrived the conclusion that my Partitions Table (GPT Type) with UEFI only boots 64-bits SOs. So, the only solution is to change GPT to MBR but it requires to wipe all data in HD. Kind of radical procedure, for now i'll keep with GTP and Lughthouse64 + Fatdog64 + Kubuntu. If...

1. Maybe you can share your grub config. I don't use grub; I boot various Puppy "live" CD-RW's, and each finds its' pupsave file on the internal SATA HDD. 2. Mmm, i would appreciate very much if you tell me/us how you did it because, as far as i know, puppy has not uefi support. a. I made...

I have a 64-bit desktop PC... Mobo = ASRock H61M-S with a UEFI BIOS... 8GB RAM Bought in 2012 I've never had any problem running ANY Puppy 64-bit & 32-bit versions work OK. Probably because the shop that sold it configured the BIOS in a suitable way. [It was sold with no OS installed] I told th...

@shuggar Did you setup Grub as 64bit or 32bit IE WAS THE INSTALLER from a 64bit distro. There is a issue on MACTEL EFI that bit-ness mattered. But If I recall 64bit did allow 32bit if BIOS compatibility was not run. Straight EFI most kernel boot messages do not appear you get a few or more seconds ...

I'd love to talk to you about how you did that, but it would take up too much forum time... email? I'm still torn whether to ship the computer back to ASUS for Windoze restoration or just keep Puppying. I just didn't do much really. In fact, i wasn't thinking running puppy on this new laptop until ...

LOL It got derailed a long time ago. There are only two ways to load Linux on a UEFI machine. One involves a complete reformat of the hard drive so that it has an MBR (Master Boot Record), and the other is to use a Linux which has a (still experimental) UEFI boot loader. Happy with Puppy. Trying to...
