Firewall Setup
Is the firewall setup broken? I try to configure it but nothing sticks. If I go back into the setup after configuring it, all my settings are gone.

incorrect time stamps on incoming eMail messages
I've tried both Sylpheed 3.1.3 and Thunderbird 3.1.2 eMail clients (this is on lupu528) and they are both time-stamping incoming eMail messages 15 hours in the future.
Puppy's clock appears to be set correctly.

Re: x11vnc shift key fix
Adding the nomodtweak flag to the /usr/X11R7/bin/x11vnc-gui file did not fix the inoperable vnc client shift key for me, but adding it to line two of the root/Startup/Start-x11vnc file worked. I am using Lupu528 with x11vnc server, and RealVNC viewer on a Windows pc. I added "PERMIT" to t...

tigervnc server
Thanks. I got the package installed no problem. The viewer has a menu entry and seems to work fine.
I've been trying to locate the documentation to configure the server and have had no luck. Is there a config file, or do I need to do all the configuration from the command line?

OP not on LAN
The LAN solutions mentioned are nice, but don't seem to apply to the OP's use scenario. To me, the main advantage solutions like LogMeIn have is that they work without router configuration. For example, I can assist my Dad remotely using LogMeIn both when he is home on his LAN, or away from home on ...

disabling font smoothing (anti-aliasing)
Is there a way to disable Antialiasing in this version? I used the Puppy Font Appearance Wizard included in PHATSlacko for this purpose. But that doesn't seem to be included in this version.

LogMeIn
I can't remote in to my Win 'puter from the Puppy one. Another player in this space is LogMeIn. The LogMeIn server software that you download gets installed on the computer you're controlling. The client runs right in a web browser. So as long as the browser can run Java, I would think you should b...

There is one additional thing that MUST be done after you setup the SSM to share a folder that you choose. The server needs a password of your choosing to access your folder from the LAN PCs. I think this is explained in the document I shared earlier. To do so, merely open a terminal and do the fol...
