I tried to do a full hd install from a cd of wary 5123 and got a kernel panic _ not syncing attempted to kill init>
works ok in frugal install in a windows environment> not tried a frugal from cd but sdimply unbundle and copy files over to directory>

I installed slackpup04 as frugal but do not get any sounds from the motherboard chip or my soundblaster card in pci slot. Video runs but no sound with it.

Manual frugal install
Alsa picks up motherboardsound chip and runs ok both gnome and pmusic pick up sound.
Does not pick up soundblaster card on pci slot and after configuring, pmusic plays mp3s but gnomeplayer does not.
The soundblaster card is not saved and has to be rerun at every boot.

I tried to format a hard drive using Gparted in quirky5 and although it says it formatted it upon refresh the partition says locked and unknown. Pdisk recognises it as a swap but thats missing from quirky. the startup screen recognises swap but with a ze=0x.... number so it might not be found.

Try burning the disc using multisession.
Ive had the same error reports on various puppys using the closed disc burn.

If you burn a quirky cd as closed then a kernel panic occurs - unable to switch root. The disc has to be burned multisession. I think this is true for some other puppies as well.

Tried everything to get puppy to boot from hd, both full and frugal.
found the reason for grub problems --- ext2???.
By reformatting hd to ext3 everything came up ok.
I can`t remember if I used the new patched ubunto pet.

I like full hard drive installs and need a devx_xxx.pet rather than .sfs. Can your program be used to convert the devx_sfs to a runnable .pet.
