Rotten ISP

Having installed Precise Puppy 5.7.1 (retro) on my sister-in-law's desktop she eagerly awaited going online for the first time. Only to be disappointed by her ISP, BT (British Telecom) when they informed her that they didn't support Linux. What a pack of time wasters they are.

I un-installed Windows 7 just for a great distro like Precise Puppy and would never even consider going back to windows. I have even convinced a family member to start using Precise Puppy.

The only way i can get a decent sound output was to use external speakers and if that's the price i have to pay for running this fantastic OS then so be it. Thanks for all the help and advice everyone.

DVD sound too low in GNOME MPlayer

Tried out GNOME MPayer to watch a dvd and it worked great! The only problem i found was the sound. Could barely hear the dvd even though i had the volume set at an 100% via the Taskbar.

Had a look at the ALSA sound Wizard but couldn't find out where i might increase the volume?
