Compton opacity only works at 50%
I have just started using BionicPup. Running well. A couple of issues, one of which is with Compton. I am using it to set the opacity of non-active windows to be semi-transparent. However, all I get is a slight change of colour in their background until I hit 50% when the window goes really transpar...

New Release - 4.2.3
I have just uploaded another bug fix release. Three changes: - Fixed a bug that made vertical docks unresponsive - Modified matching rules to improve the matching on applications such as htop that run in the linux shell - Improved feedback on one of the matching errors that can occur (especially for...

Hi Ghost Dog, Thanks for the nice words. Firstly, don't worry about the Wnck-Warning - it does one of those for each open window at start up. I don't honestly know the cause but I have seen other developers reference it. It can be safely ignored. Now for the Rox-filer problem. This is interesting. O...

New release 4.2.2
Another new release with the following changes: Fixed a bug whereby X Windows gradually stole more and more virtual memory - special thanks to Keef for spotting this Altered the code to load in indicators as there was a problem with one of Gdk's functions in Slacko which did not work as per the Gtk ...

Given the disappointing problems I am going to have to put a note to folk to not download the current version. When I am back from holiday on Monday I will make version 3.1 available again. I will then work on version 4.2 to fix the memory leaks. I have identified two memory leaks in current code. O...

@Smokey01 - embarrassed thanks for the compliment :) @Torm - thanks for the comments. Should be able to add the -s flag to calendar - will look in to that @Keef - thanks for confirming that. I have now been able to replicate the memory leak and it appears to be emanation the from a piece of code tha...

Sorry folks but currently on holiday. Keef's feedback is worrying - sounds like a memory leak. I'll have to check the changes between versions to see where one might have been introduced. Keef - have you used any of the new features when you got the problem or did you simply upgrade? Knowing this wi...

Hi Phil - not sure why it didn't work for you. I have just tested by setting up a brand new clean 6.0.5 environment. I downloaded the library libwnck22_2.30.7 which told me to also told me I needed to download libwnck-common_2.30.7. I downloaded that as well. Then, at a terminal I typed ocd-Dock and...

Thanks for the feedback! Great to hear that things are working. I think it is a library problem, but I am beginning to wonder whether it might be libwnck. I'd like to lose that as a dependency so might look into that. [Since making this post I have had another look to remind myself why I did not get...

Thanks Grant and Geoff, It looks as if it works if I compile in Slacko. I have uploaded a Slacko version as a separate upload - please see the first post. I have uploaded an executable which needs to be downloaded and moved into /usr/local/bin I will try to come up with a better way of distributing ...

Thanks guys - it seems to me that the common factor is Slacko - seems some more testing needed from me as it seems to work fine in TahrPup. Very odd though why it is happening. Rob I'm sorry for not being clear. The switches have nothing to do with the pinned file. Running ocd-Dock without switches ...

Thanks Grant. Firstly, it should be robust to not having a pinned file. A pinned file is created for you if you pin something to the dock. So no problem there. Secondly the pinned file you've quoted is absolutely fine and would be what I would have suggested you write if you wanted it hand craft one...

Thanks Smokey01 for the feedback. I have no idea why it is doing that as it works perfectly on my test - there again I am not using slacko-632. To help me diagnose, is there any chance you could upload: - your pinned file before pinning the extra app - your pinned file after pinning the extra app (a...

Hi Ghost Dog. Very interesting problem. Firstly, I don't recognise the icons so they don't come with ocd-Dock. They may be, I suspect, the Gtk icons for missing images. So you get these when ocd-Dock is looking for an icon that it cannot find. Secondly, you say that this only occurs when you open Ge...

Hi Mow9902, Firstly, thanks for the feedback. The main problem is that desklets MUST be square so it is not possible create (at least at present) rectangular desklets. If you wanted, though a clock (with no skin) 200 pixels by 200 pixels at the position you specify then the desklets file should cont...
