I haven't found it in ubuntu repositories yet. Maybe it will take some time to get there. Yes. it has option to set cache size and directory. I am not sure about the GPU acceleration. I see there is an option called "Use hardware acceleration when available". I guess the actual availabilit...

Slimjet web browser

I've run into this Slimjet browser a few days ago. It is from the same company (FlashPeak) which made the SlimBoat browser. To clarify the difference, SlimBoat is based on the community-maintained webkit while Slimjet is based on Google's blink engine. As a matter of fact, most browser vendors have ...

I believe the developers use the customized version to Google to earn a little cash for themselves to get things going. I believe you are tracked to some degree via cookies even with the vanila Google.com. Google changes search result ranking orders based on your past search history nowadays. With t...

It looks like they have fixed the gstreamer libs download link now. It now points to a xz package of about 400KB. Version 1.1.24 is out. The gstreamer libs package on the downloads page is just an empty file at the moment. Maybe they are updating that. Anyway I downloaded the Debian Wheezy gstreamer...

Re: Slimboat

I just downloaded archpup-12.12.2 from this forum post: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=671851#671851 . Extract slimboat_i386.tar.xz (v1.1.20) together with the gstream libs listed on http://www.slimboat.com/en/dlpage.php . It runs fine for me. No message either lauching through command...

Re: Slimboat

FlashPeak has just posted SlimBoat 1.1.20. Maybe you can try it out and see if it makes any difference. By the way, where did you download this Arch Puppy? I might install it and try it out sometime. No message either lauching through command prompt or clicking slimboat.sh. No output at all. She is ...

Re: SlimBoat Browser

May I ask which website gives you the ssl errors? I am using the latest version 1.1.19 and have no ssl errors with gmail and hotmail. I have installed the SlimBoat Browser in Precise Puppy. However, while opening https website, either slow or showing SSL error. How to solve these?. Otherwise, it see...

By the way, on both precise pup and slackpup, I got slimboat to run with the 6 libgst libs without installing additional packages via PPM. You are right. libc.so.6 shouldn't be shipped since it's such a fundemental system lib. I will shoot a note to the developers and inform them of the issue. They ...

I guess that's why. LOL. I was curious enough to install slack and try it out myself. I got the same result when I used the additional libs downloaded from slimboat.com. Probably those libs are copied from an ubuntu distribution which is more compatible with precise puppy but doesn't go well with Sl...

I just tried playing a couple of youtube videos and it worked just fine. But as I said, I use precise not Slack. Why are you afraid of the additiona libraries if they are fundamental ones? It's extracted into the the private libs folder under slimboat folder. It only affects slimboat and won't affec...

I installed SlimBoat Web Browser in Precise puppy 5.4.3 and got it to run after putting together some additional supporting libraries. However, I do get ssl certificate errors when I browse https sites. I don't get the same issue when I run it on ubuntu. Do you get the same problem? I took a look un...
