Turboprint

I bought a Turboprint key about five years ago, and it's been good through all their releases. I've used Turboprint with my USB Canon i250 right up to pups 3 to 4. Extract, select "setup" and follow prompts. Sometimes I've had to fiddle a bit, maybe change the order of starting Cups and Tu...

Turboprint

Can't get Turboprint to work with Canon i250 (still running great, doesn't care how cheap the ink is). Turbo and Cups set up, seems to find the printer, everything looks right, but can't print a test page. No problem with earlier Pups. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Muppy Beta

Muppy seems to work well and has about everything I usually have to load into a new pup; Streamtuner, a wide choice of background graphics, Gimp, etc. Looking forward to exploring the other stuff. May even take another shot at Wine since this Pup/Mup gives me a push in that direction. Thanks for you...

Canon printers, Turboprint

I got Turboprint and paid around $30 for the license 4 years ago to use my Canon i250 with Suse Linux. Still have it and it works fine with Puppy. At first it would lose the license when I rebooted, but the latest free upgrade fixed the problem. Hated to pay for a driver, but it does work well with ...

Puppy forum confirmation code impossible to read

Finally remembered my forum password, but before that I gave up trying to recover it or re-register because I couldn't get past your conformation code. I'd keep trying until it wouldn't play any more. Haven't had a problem with other confirm codes. How do you tell the caps from lower case? Is it siz...

Wireless

Rudy 13 and Pups 13-15 have trouble finding my Linksys wireless card when I boot. The connection wizard finds it without a problem (mostly) but can't seem to save that info, although it saves all the other changes. Earlier pups and rudys had no problem. There's probably a way to tell the pup to run ...

Firefox crashing -GuestToo script

Blundered through GuestToo's instructions and got his script working. It also seems to solve my Foxcrash problem. I'm working with a Dell Inspiron 2200. Seems to handle puppys fine. Can't get JPilot working, but I didn't expect to. Again, thanks for everyones work and help.

Rudy 13: Firefox closes when Yahoo opened (solved)

This Rudy Version has everything I need - many thanks for your work - but Firefox 2 would close when I tried to access my Yahoo page. Found the directions somewhere in the forum to revert flash 9 to flash 7 and that solved the problem. No more crashes so far.

Using Firefox 2.0.0.1. I 'm now guessing [code1] is a formatting command that isn't formatting. Is there some format option I should turn on or off? I see a "Disable BBCode in this post" box which is checked. I use FireFox because it will add on "cards" which is the closest I can...

Rudy Puppy icons

Problem solved! Thanks Debernardis and Pizzasgood. Once I got in the file I learned that [code:1] isn't part of the programming, just part of these messages. I was entering [code:1] along with the path, so of course I kept getting "file not found." A dumb mistake, but a smart mistake isn't...

Rudy Puppy icons

I liked the icons at first also. Looking at a clear screen was great. I was sorry the trash can and lock stayed visible. The problem was the icons jumped on top of whatever was on screen. If they would stick to the desktop layer it would be fine. Meanwhile . . . To get rid of them, open a terminal a...

Rudy Puppy icons

The latest puplinux from Rudy - the something skies release - is great. It has everything I need. My one problem is the icons at the top that appear when the cursor is moved over them. I'm constantly activating them by accident when I try to open a file or or pull down a menu and move too close to t...

Xorg drops to prompt

Problem may be that I changed the background picture to my own jpg . Did it by messing around since I don't know how to do it correctly. It seemed to run fine, but I'd like to try restoring the default background. Don't know how to do that from the prompt. As always, I know just enough to get into t...

Check your error Msg logs ! /var/log/ <-- folders for last system Msg's & any Xorg error logs Got a lot in Messages and a lot in Xorg.0.log. I see nothing flagged as error but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. I'm running puppy from a 2G Attache flash drive. It had been working well. No...

Xorg drops to prompt

Using pup12 on Dell Inspiron 2200. Xorg was working, then on boot would flash window then drop to prompt. Xorgwizard sets up and displays fine, then on "done" drops to prompt. Other pups run, but this was the one I finally got Cups and TurboPrint on. Tried other window settings, but same t...
