Import not perfect

I just installed the Windows version of Softmaker FreeOffice on my Windows computer. I opened two docx files, one with figures and one with a table containing double lines. Not all figures showed, and the double lines became single lines. I would judge the conversion better then LibreOffice, but sti...

64-bit Precise Puppy

I would like to use the newly released Precise Puppy, with its compatibility with the Ubuntu repositories. One of the things I would like to do is to run Rawtherapee (RT) with large raw files, which requires a lot of memory. They recommend using a 64-bit OS on the RT website because of memory handli...

Spontaneous shutdown under Lucid Puppy

I am now running Lucid Puppy 5.2.8. Firefox suddenly just quit, as I was surfing the web with a few windows and maybe 15 tabs open. When restarting Firefox, all of the windows and tabs restored (the "Well, this is embarrasing"-and-so-on tab with the option of restoring came up upon restart...

Updated Firefox crashes on opening another Firefox.

I run Slacko Puppy Linux 5.3.3 on a Fujitsu Siemens laptop with 1.7 MHz Pentium mobile and 1 GB ram. I downloaded a Firefox 14 pet from here: http://www.smokey01.com/Tman/apps/firefox/ and then updated to Firefox 15 with Firefox's built-in updater. If I run Firefox now, and then try to open another ...

OK, I found it. Macpup 529 is based on Precise beta 2, according to the Macpup forum thread: http://macpup.org/forums/index.php/topic,5.0.html.

Macpup 529 - is it based on a release version of Precise?

Macpup 529 has been released, and is based on Precise Puppy 5.2.60 (see http://macpup.org/forums/index.php/topic,5.0.html). Is that a stable release, and in that case, is there also a Precise Puppy 5.2.60 somewhere for download?

I tried Frisbee, with the same results. Then I tried updating the driver with the file 'b43-firmware-LP-PHY.pet', which I found in the second link in bigpup's post. That seems to have worked. I kept Frisbee (I don't think changing it would make any difference, but is there any particular reason not ...

Wireless LAN adapter stops working after reboot

This is my very first attempt at anything Linux (and my first post here), so please bear with me and my very limited knowledge on Linux. I downloaded Lucid Puppy Linux 5.2.8 Plus (with extra HP printer drivers) Libre (with LibreOffice). After burning a live CD, I put it in a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pr...
