One thing to remember with Carolina or Vanguard, you don't have the benefit of a full fledged repo as with Ubuntu or Slackware. You only have what Geoffrey or Battleshooter uploaded to Smokey01's server, every other package is trial and error.

No, but I'm sure you could use 64bit tahr and install xfce through the repo.

When you click add to create a custom action, appearance conditions is one of two tabs. See screenshot.

Whisker problem is most likely due to the fact that the language files aren't there. Nor are they for any of the xfce packages.

How to add right-click actions within a running XFCE Puppy?

Thanks
Open Thunar > Edit > Configure custom actions > Add.

You can highlight any and click edit to see how they are configured. Don't forget to configure appearance/conditions tab.

Mike, the startup script in my-apps is not needed. You can simply add

Code: Select all

Exec=urxvt -e sh -c 'neofetch ; read p'
to the .desktop file.

Re: puppy_tazpup_4.4.sfs

Speeking of unsquashfs, Uextract ( tazpup version ) requires unsquashfs to unsquash an sfs file. It also requires liblz4.so to unsquash squash files. I mentioned that here , it obviously got missed. A reminder never hurts. Edit: Just noticed I was talking about squashfs not unsquashfs, sorry. Anywa...

A question, where is samba/simple file sharing invoked at boot in tazpup? I'd like to disable that so the notifications don't pop up at boot. I think I've looked in the obvious places but haven't found the equivalent of Boot Manager or where to do it manually. /usr/bin/lxsession-edit, menu entry is...

n.b. upupbb has kernel in zdrv and firmware in fdrv....would this cause problems?
I removed kernel from taz sfs and tried slacko-6.9.9.9 kernel, still panic at switch root.

I noticed that the main sfs doesn't have /etc/DISTRO_SPECS, I'm pretty sure a lot of the puppy scripts need this.

Edit: Never mind, I see the new ISO has it.

Mistfire, can you please do delta as well as ISO? Not all of us have cheap, blazing fast unlimited internet. Also, md5sum would be helpful.
