Try Universal USB installer. https://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ If the list of Puppy's isn't up to date, that's okay. Just choose "other linux" at the bottom of the menu. You'll see what I am talking about. It uses Fat32, so you'll have to use a Save File ...

FWIW, I think part of the anxiety can be helped by knowing we aren't in danger of losing years and years of content we rely on. This is a thread about getting archive.org to archive your whole site/board and some hacks, who to ask nicely, and a paid way to do that. https://webapps.stackexchange.com/...

Re: Firefox 78+ Completely Freezes For Unkown Reasons

More than frustrated with firefox 78.0.1 It has completely frozen now 6 times in 30 minutes with only a killall firefox in a terminal shutting it down. "Kill" from the menu will make it disapear from the screen but does not actually shut down any processes associated with firefox. I have ...

Debian Dog Stretch

Very nice. I like it.

Was able to import my youtube subscriptions in minutes.

What are other electron applications?

Edit: spoke too soon. Getting errors on a lot of videos. Still like it though.

Hi Fred, Thanks for your reply and the information. From what you said I am assuming I could do this again but this time chose xz compression to get smaller files. I might try this but at the moment I'm quite happy with what I've got and I think I'll stick with it for a bit. I did notice when I shu...

It has puppy like users with a "run-as-user" script that runs things as the "puppy" user Fred's Dog builds have this mechanism but the Starter Kits do not. As you work through the various build scripts for apps like chromium, each one will have its own "run-as-guest" s...

So far, so good. Still getting used to the "lack of" but, it's tight and a pleasant surprise. apt isn't anything I've run in a long time. Handy having a real cli pacman. Haven't gotten around to it but, multi-user? or, like Pup, a pseudo implementation? I gather I could add LaunchPad PPA'...

I guess the

Code: Select all

noauto from=/BusterDog/
in BusterDog is equivalent to

Code: Select all

pfix=ram
in the puppys. Very useful. Thanks for your help.

I've played around with it.

You need to edit the file associations.

See this very old post I made on the Raspberry Pi board.

Some scripts that make .pet files strip out the documents, localization, etc in addition to compressing.

Look for "/usr/bin/VisualBoyAdvance" and either click on it or run it from the terminal.
