Re: mpd nice -1
On a sidenote, do any of the Alix and/or usb-powered Dac users use optimized power-supplies replacing wall-wart/usb-power (regulated or battery power)? I've upgraded from cheap PSU and usb powered WaveIO to self powered Alix and Wave and the difference in S.Q. is very noticeable, highly recommended...

Re: mpd nice -1
Dynobot Great tip! Can you either repost directions to decrease the other priorities to or point me to a post? I have put in a bunch of your tweaks. all good, thanks Want to make sure I have not missed these the Nice -1 on MPD removed a nagging concern I had with the sound of an ALIX board running ...

I've not listed the ir receiver but it's already connected, i've to try to dump some ir codes to see if it's working correctly, then, if the only other config to be done it's in the emp...

Serial port control for MPD
Hi all, i've got a question for Idolse: did you think that is possible to feed some basic commands (such track skip, stop, play and eventually read some informations) to mpd via a rs-232 serial port? For my dac i'm building an mcu to control some function and to have ir remote control and since the ...

Don't ask me why but today i've tried reinstalling all and now it's working again  Only difference from last effort was that after every mod at config (first auto wizard, changing mpd version, unmuting waveio in alsa and doing usbnrpack mod) i've rebooted and waited a little before continuing ...

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this statement: if i try to run the wizard, it cannot recognise the server folder Specific descriptions of exactly what you're seeing help immensely. Can you ping your fileserver from the command line? I wasn't clear, when i run the wizard, the first step asks ...

@bonalux - based on those errors something happened between mpdPup and your fileserver - maybe your fileserver IP changed, or you changed your password? Try re-running the wizard and re-configuring the network share. Hi Idolse, my mpd server on Alix board stopped working suddenly, if i try to run t...

Problem
@Idolse: sorry to bother you again, but last evening suddenly mpd stopped working and i was unable to recover the problem, even rebooting didn't solved it. I've tried also to reinstall all on the CF card from scratch and reconfigure it with the wizard, but it seems that for some reason, even if it's...

Always very prompt reply, thank you. I was asking because with the previous pc i've never faced this problem, typing alsamixer was enough to launch the mixer and then unmute all. Regarding the fix, it's really not a problem because it's a one time thing to do and then it works fine and it's only rel...

Glad to hear that worked! Now if I could only find a way to do it programmatically. nrpacks is part of the wizard already - it gets set when you choose to use the 'recommended' settings instead of Linux defaults. If you go into the tweaks section or choose the advanced wizard you can specify what n...

Tried several times using your script but no luck, any time after reboot have to unmute the waveio....frustrating. There is any way to check if the script is working as expected or not? Another strange thing that happens, is that after sturtup, there is a very strong whistle coming from the speakers...
