Great piece of software. Thanks for posting this. I saw QuickSFV first and tried that out but it doesn't seem to have a recursive mode where it can go into the subdirectories and check the SFV files in there.
This makes it pretty simple. Thanks!

CFV
Hi, On Ubuntu, I use a program called "cfv". The website is located at the following URL: http://cfv.sourceforge.net/ Is there a pet package for this program so that I can install it on Slacko Puppy. I tried looking at various Slackware repositories to try and find a slackware package, but...

In that same vein, I'd suggest you read this thread: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=39426 I think you can avoid puppy saving too much junk to your pupsave file by installing programs as SFS. I don't know as I'm still reading that thread, but it may be able to help you avoid getting tha...

For a more direct answer to your question, yes, Lucid is designed to work with Ubuntu packages, Slacko (Slackware Puppy) is designed to work with Slackware packages. You can use both, but it is not recommended and you'll probably run into issues.

If you don't have a linux system in which you can use gparted (last time I checked it is only a linux application), you can use virtualization (VM Player is free; there are others) to boot into linux in a virtual box and use gparted there. It's not as hard as it sounds. You pretty much install your ...

If you are having trouble connecting, I suggest you use the Frisbee application to try to connect to your network. If Frisbee shows your network twice, you have to create a profile in Frisbee for each time it shows your network. I don't know if this is your problem, but if it is, it's an easy fix. T...

Thanks for the post Aitch. I wanted to try and use and NX-based remote desktop since I have found it to be a lot better in situations were bandwidth is an issue. I imagine that where bandwidth is not a problem, VNC-based solutions are better since they seem to be a lot more popular / supported. NX a...

Success!! I am not typing this from Puppy Linux. I was able to connect to my hidden / not-broadcasted network. I think where I messed up is that after Frisbee shows a list of networks, I have to create a profile for that network. From there, the whole process is very self-explanatory. Thanks for the...

Yea, on Slacko Frisbee is there by default. I don't understand why it wouldn't work if the networks do show up when I scan. I just can't seem to connect. I'll try Frisbee again, but it didn't work a few hours back. Try the Frisbee wireless utility. I can't remember if it comes up as an option when s...

Wireless Not Connecting NP-QX411 [SOLVED]
Hi everyone. I am using a Samsung NP-QX411 and I am having trouble connecting to the internet. I think I might be missing drivers. Even though the network scan works fine, and I see the various networks around me, when I try to connect it comes back with a DHCP error or a can't get IP error. What in...

Thanks darkcity, so basically my original thinking was correct! I better just move Puppy to a bigger USB drive, since I'm really liking it and plan to use it more often. Now if I could only get it to connect to a hidden wireless network! Lol. I'm working on that. [EDIT] Working! http://murga-linux.c...

Where are programs installed to?
Hi Everyone, Could I get some clarification on where programs are installed to if I am running Puppy Slacko from a live USB? I'm guessing that for .pet programs, they get installed to my pup_save file (*.2fs), so if I am saving that pup_save file to my USB drive, it is taking up space on my USB driv...

Password for Saving Session
Hi, One suggestion that I have is to have the prompt that asks you for a password when saving your session for the first time to confirm that password. This only happens if you chose to encrypt the file, which if the file is stored on a USB drive is a good idea. However, i just did that and I must h...

Hi guys, Thanks for both of your replies. So it seems that using Ubuntu binary packages could be a mistake, and I should stick with Slackware packages for Slacko. What Binary Packages is Puppy Linux Compatible With
Hi Everyone, I am new to Puppy Linux, and so far it's been simply amazing. However, I am still trying to grasp how Puppy manages software. My understanding is that the latest Puppy Linux (5.3.x) is built from the binaries of different distros (Ubuntu, Slackware, Debian, etc.). My question is, if I a...
