But I can't mount a nfsshare on from my debian server. mount -t nfs ip.of.the.server:/movies /mnt mount: connection refused I then searched the package manager, but didn't find any nfs package. ssh login to the server works, nfs mo...

Most thinkpads I used (at least 4 diffrend models, oldest 233Mhz wit 128MB RAM) just worked ice with puppy. Just give Lupu 520 a try (worked fine with my "newest" model (T43).
see post above.

@CatDude:
addition: even touchpad and trckpoint at once work fine!

Just stumbled over this thread.
Do you like to edit it myself >(then how)
or do you collect things from this thread and edit the page yourself?
(have 2 Laptops. one works, one only partial;in different ways).

sony vaio vpcf12 works only partial

This is very annoying hardware. Seams there is no linux out there which supports all: -synaptic touchpad -sound -networking here is the strange thing: I tested lupu 520 and MediaPup1-0a with following results: lupu: - touchpad working - network recognized only the firewire as network device (no eth ...

Maybe it's just because I'm not a native english speaker, but I can't figure out the progress from Libretto 100's last post.
Is there a 50/70 Version up anywhere to test?

First thanks for all the work you have allready done. And an idea for the install: Perhaps an ISO isn't nessessary or even not the best choice at all (my opinion). Because you have to swap the hdd in some other computer a tar archive is nicer: -plug in the hdd in the host/install computer -boot live...

Me too, but it was never clear, if it was to BIOS limitation or simply, because the memory with this special connector wasn't build.

EDIT: Networking 'only' needs all PCMCIA drivers (I think there are some cards that work with normal drivers..) NFS support is s...

used the recommente method, but didn't helped (the xorg.conf file already exists anyway).
I now use 1.0.8r1, which runs fine with xvesa (selecting the xorgwizard made the computer boot instandly).
Are there any known issus with matrox mystique cards?
