nic007 and cthisbear, First - thanks for replying. To answer your question nic007, both Warys are frugal installed. I put both on there to see if there were any differences, and isn't Wary 5.5 more recent than 5.3? And to both of you, why leave Windows on there? I'd like to hear your opinions on it....

Re-installing Puppy Wary from scratch on a Gateway Solo 9100
Greetings all, I know it has been a while, but I have been extremely busy! So I currently have Puppy Wary 5.3 and 5.5 on a Gateway Solo 9100 with WinXP. Since WinXP is no longer supported, I am going to get rid of it and make this an all-Linux machine  . I know I have to wipe the drive, etc...

Interactive typing programs for Wary 5.3 and/or 5.5? SOLVED
Greetings all,
The end user of this machine indicated that they wanted an interactive and fun typing program to learn typing. Is there any software out there for Wary 5.3 and/or 5.5 that I can install?
If so, can someone guide me through the steps of installing it?
Thanks!

Possible sound card bug with Wary 5.5
Greetings all,
Trying out Wary 5.5, and ALSA finds my card and tries to play a test sound, but crashes before that even happens.
Sounds works fine on Wary 5.3. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

RetroPrecise does not have correct sound drivers
Greetings all,
Sorry the title was a bit limited, but I have a Gateway Solo 9100 that has a Yamaha sound card (OPL3-SAx I believe).
Sound does work in Wary 5.3, but not RetroPrecise. And I did try the legacy drivers in RetroPrecise.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

6502coder, I meant the dongle (sorry - I'm a noob). It was my noob understanding (and please correct me if I am wrong) that if a device and/or driver worked in one version it would work in all. I thought all Puppies were derived from the same kernel. If you have time, can you please help me understa...

What's the best wireless card for my system and Wary 5.3?
Greetings all, I am determined to fix this wireless issue and then configure Puppy once and for all (I hope). I've been messing around with Wary 5.3 for quite some time, but let's work on the wireless first. I have a Gateway Solo 9100 laptop, PII @ 400 MHz, 384 MB RAM, 160 GB IDE HDD (with half for ...

How to use Netgear N600 USB wireless adapter on Wary 5.3?
Greetings all, So I abandoned my Cisco card and am going to work with USB - probably better in the long run. I have a Netgear N600 for the Gateway Solo 9100 that I am going to use with Wary 5.3 (and possible RetroPrecise). Now I tried several of the network setup utilities, but it doesn't detect my ...

How to set power in PCMCIA slots in Wary 5.3? (ABANDONED)
Greetings all, I'm referencing this topic: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=687579#687579 Now, I was doing some searching on the web and it turns out that my socket isn't getting power to the Cisco card (part AIR-CB21AG-A-K9), even though my modem card is and it works on both sockets...

Ok, I'll just cut and paste here. Please let me know if you have any other ideas (both my modem and CIsco PCMCIA card are plugged in, and Puppy can detect the modem via PupDial). Using PupScan, when I hit PCI interfaces I get: DESCRIPTION: Host bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX H...
