I don't have HDMI. Therefore I want to use the other sound card that the computer has onboard, but Puppy wouldn't let me: it was impossible to make the other video card the default device, so I didn't have sound.

I keep working with Puppy too and will update after testing the suggestions made here, for which I'm thankful btw.

Just a quick update: so far all works fine under Saluki, except for getting back out of hibernation mode.

I use a EEEPC 1101HA . Sound doesn't work under skype (microphone) and after going into hibernating mode, it wakes up with a black screen.

Another update: I installed Slacko to give it a try and now all menu's under the function keys seem to work. However: when I close the lid of the laptop, the screen stays black when the computer wakes up and the microphone doesn't work under Skype... And no: changing Alsamixer settings didn't solve ...
