Found digikam in salix but attempts to install it lock up my system so I'm forced to use another os live that has it available for now. The other os is much slower and doesn't offer save files so have to reinstall, update, etc at every boot again. Very frustrating... :(

Forum troubles....

Anyone else experienced extreme delays accessing the forum off and on for the last week or so?. Today July 10 has been the worst for me with extreme delays to get here, to login, and to post. 8)

01micko, thanks for the reply. I took a quick look but was unable to find Digikam in the Slackware repos... I checked the official, salix, slacko, and the slacko official but did not find it. I assume it requires the glib2 packages plus others. Also looked at gphoto and gphoto2 but couldn't find anyth...

Similar results with Pupcamera. On other OS's I always used Digikam and it worked but I don't see it availab...

Here are some suggestions to try that were given to me in another post by member 'f00 about a similar question. I have not tried them yet but intend to soon and it looks like they might work for your question also. (quote) b) For making kwin the default wm, probably edit the last line in /root/.xini...

'foo, Thanks, Precise does have the defaults program included and the xdelta program as Barry pointed out and the post linked to clarifies it's use. I had poked around some but will go back and try the mods you think might work and see what happens. I remember reading something similar to your sugge...

Karl &Bigpup thanks for the replies. I remember now that Lupu was the one I tried awhile back and I have not yet tried Lucid but will do that very soon and see how it compares to the Precise Alpha3. I did and do understand about Alphas, Betas, and Deltas and also get along pretty good with the t...

beta2

On toshiba tecra 1.66ghz core duo w/1.5gb ram beta2 will not boot. Had no trouble with 5.2.55 or with 5.2.58 except 5.2.58 takes 6 minutes to boot up with long wait time to load drivers etc. With 5.2.60 it just sits and never loads drivers or moves forward. Have burnt iso 2 times and verified the bu...
