I've compiled xfce and have it running of a fashion, still needs work to get everything working, recompiled glib with the patch that's mentioned, then compiled the pup-volume-monitor, it threw a few warnings in the compile but it's now working, no segment faults, thunar filemanager shows drives and...

Re: LxPup-by-SFS (LXDE desktop) for TahrPup 5.8.3 is available
peebee i would be glad if you provided the built/patched libglib, i too tried to use pupvol monitor and failed. Unlike you i wanted to use it with xfce and thunor, better yet 666philb could avail it in quickpet, it could also be used with mate desktop.

dbus
i find that the dbus error is due to dbus starting latter than when its needed eg using avahi or bluetooth the init scripts are executed starting with numbers then letters. since i use avahi and bluetooth these two would fail to contact dbus because they start before it. you may find it in /etc/init...

rox and drive all
I think we should push changes in the rox and drive_all scripts to Barry as they are the ones that call thunar instead of rox when using xfce furthermore the scripts do not break jwm since it what woof built puppies use hence its a plus that Barry retains jwm as he likes and the community can easily...

By the way xbmc eden has the ability to receive air play content. I just noticed one in repository is 10 which does not have airplay, i tend to forget if your reason for using the older one is the C library, ohh snd xmc has an mpd client too. Airplay screenshot in Eden rc2

Jemimah you could add my sample config files to your pets, i know no scripting, there are several files mentioned in the config files if there was a way to either auto create them in their respective directories it would help. its not necessary though.
