Test of BusterDog from 2019-12-29 Tried both 32bit and 64bit versions Ethernet interface is not recognised Broadcom BCM 57788 - uses tg3 kernel module as driver and this is loaded. I did the substitution to replace the 4.19 kernel with the 3.16.0-4 and the interface then works, but this is only avai...

All you need to do if you have the official tarball is choose /opt as the location to which you extract it when using xarchive. That really should be it. The extracted tarball is just one folder named palemoon, which contains everything. If you have extracted it somewhere else, you can substitute th...

Do you have a link to any sources for this?
The latest version I can find is 0.5.0 from year 2000 !!
This requires GTK1 which in turn requires much older Glib and probably other older libraries, so I think it will be a challenge to build it in any recent Puppy.

There are some settings in Puppy which do not allow USB sound cards to become "Card 0" or "hw:0" It is designed to stop USB cards from grabbing this designation when you plug one in. This is because integrated motherboard sound cards (and then PCI sound cards) should have priorit...

Testing EasyPup 2.2.12 Looking very good. The only thing I have found is that, although Hiawatha starts, the PPLOG throws a 500 Internal Server Error in SeaMonkey so does not display. I looked at the error log and it was pointing to missing CGI/Carp.pm perl module. I installed libcgi-pm-perl by down...

any ideas what is missing? Could be pkgconfig *.pc files? Or maybe the DEV symlinks to the shared GTK libs are effectively broken because they are links to real libraries with a different number. The DEV symlink is usually the one with ".so" and no number at the end and is often located i...

It has a nopae kernel.

This sounds like a very good idea!
Doesn't it also already have VLC included (and possibly even a VLC upgrade option in Quickpet)?

In the case of BionicPup32, I am testing a live CD of it now. Pressing F2 gives the help screen with information about having to type "puppy" and then a space.... But if you start typing from there it returns you to the boot options screen. To get the "boot:" prompt you have to p...

Not sure how much it helps. Most of the lines are commented-out explanations or commented-out default settings which don't have any effect. In this one the media_dir has been set to the one I am using. In yours it will need to be the path to the directory where you have put your media files. The ver...

I still think it is not set up and configured correctly, with the media files you want to "transmit" to Roku being all placed in a specific folder, and then the name of that folder being given as the media_dir in the config file. That log shows no mention of a directory being scanned or fi...

You only have to know where your media files are located in your Puppy PC, you mentioned that they are in /mnt/home/desktop This could be a directory which you create in the Puppy PC specifically for the purpose, I named mine /mnt/home/media Then make sure this has been defined in /etc/minidlna.conf...

No, you do not need to install VLC in Roku, I only used VLC as a substitute and as a way of testing without a Roku. Did you use my .pet because I had to add the /etc/minidlna.conf file to it manually because the "make install" command does not do so? This means that if you did use my .pet ...

rameshiyer, I am unclear because you originally said "It shows connection established however no internet." That is why I thought it might be a DNS issue. Later you said "However, no connection at all". When you originally allowed automatic connection (via DHCP) was everything OK...

If you edit or alter the .xml files you may also need to run:-
glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
Can't guarantee it will fix things, just a suggestion, but wonder if you did this?
