I've had the full install. Upgraded (not wipe) to 5.4 and now my poor Slacko isn't feeling too well anymore. The file manager and Chromium isn't starting, no background pictures... It has to be put out of its misery I guess. :( I'm getting this when trying to run programs: "[...] symbol lookup ...

Version 1.8.5, sure. Oh, and it doesn't run. I suspect SDL 1.2.14, which might need to be downgraded to 1.2.13. Not sure how. Googled a lot.

Seems like a fun game. I have the latest Slacko. I guess I should download the current Source code version and follow the easy install guide. Oh, no, wait that guide isn't easy at all, and the overlapping dependencies and what not. God, have anyone actually managed to start the game? What's wrong wi...

Nope, it's not going into sleep mode. It disconnects randomly while I'm doing stuff. Probably any second now... One of those days.

Thanks! I might try the stuff in the other thread, but it's a huge thread.

Unstable wireless connection

Hello! The wireless connection randomly disconnect. Sometimes (and even some entire days) it works without a problem, but other times it just keeps disconnecting me. I can be online for a few seconds or minutes and then it suddenly disconnects me. After a while it might reconnect automatically or I ...

Networking seems incredibly random. I don't know what's happening behind the scenes. Sometimes wireless with WPA2 works just fine and sometimes it doesn't and requires a "upgrade" reset. To mix things up I've recently been getting some kind of DHCP error which I've been unable to fix. Why ...

Woho, solved! Maybe only temporary, but anyway... I found other threads about the same problem, and one of the tips given was to reinstall/upgrade Puppy, and so I did and now both the (WPA2) wireless and Chrome is working again. This is how I did: I went to Menu -> Puppy universal installer and pick...

Chrome and wireless stopped working...?

My laptop is now pretty much unusable and I'm completly puzzled. Two problems occured at the same time, why and how they're related I don't know. One moment it was working just fine with an external USB GigaByte Wireless Adapter and Chromium 17 for Slacko. I didn't touch the computer for a few minut...

Thanks a lot!

I got AdbeRdr9.4.7-1_i486linux_enu.bin from here and it works (after changing the filename in the script, of course).

Thanks, but I've read all that. Neither zufall or zufall-gnome (with GConf) seem to work in Slacko, and rwall don't stretch. Anyway, Nathan Wallpaper Setter GUI wasn't kind to me, but this little command wallslide /insert/your/dir did the trick after editing the config files at /root/.config/wallpap...

I did search. :) The hits on zufall were mostly in German... But yeah thanks for the tip about rwall. I can safely say that I've depleted all my mental energy for tonight though... I've had to copy all my pictures (photos actually, ordered in dirs after date) to a single dir. Now I only have to figu...

Hi, Tote. :) I'm also new, so correct me if I'm wrong, but the stuff under /mnt/home/ doesn't get saved to your Puppy save file. Another topic: I found some of the fonts in Slacko to be really ugly and "pixelated". This thread helped me: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?searc...

Background wallpaper slideshow

Hello! First of all, I'm a complete and utter newbie when it comes to Linux, and woho, Puppy is awesome! Quick, effective... Finally I can start up my computer in under a minute and just get to work - well, I could anyway, if I weren't fiddling around with all the fun stuff and settings... :) One of...
