I'm sorry, I should have said, I changed the pwidget to show the second cpu. by the way his is an older hyperthreading cpu and everything seems to work great!

I use a d-link dub-e100 adapter that I bought from e-bay a couple years ago. It says it's for usb 2.0 but works with older usb 1.1 also. Puppy's network connection wizard recognizes it and sets it up.
