The same thing happens with Wine compiled from source. I did that little tweak as Pizzasgood suggested, and it let it run fine, but it does spam the console.
Has anyone gotten it accept your libc instead of complaining all the time?

ServInfo works in Wine. http://www.avsim.com/hangar/utils/servinfo/home.htm
It's for online aviators, VATSIM or IVAO.
It's useful because I can have it open on my laptop while the desktop is in XP busy running Flight Sim 2004 or FSX.

Puppy does run entirely in 128MB RAM. At least, the stock versions do. 2.15CE does not, at least not in 128MB. 256MB should be sufficient. Since you don't have that, you have a couple of options: - Create a swap partition for it to use instead of the CD, which will be much faster. - Install to the h...

It is possible to install the Puppy files that are being read from the CD to the NTFS hard drive, and then set up the Windows boot manager to give a choice between Windows and Linux on bootup. Loading the save file from the hard drive is certainly faster than a multisession burn, but loading the Pup...

Set up your plugins with links and copying as specified at http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=15751 and the crashing should stop.
It made all the difference for me.
Although with that little space, there may two problems.

The best place to find the dependencies is by running the configure script :P But, I would guess, the devx's packages kernel header files will be sufficient for a driver. They're low-level enough that they typically don't use libraries, just the kernel. You don't actually need the kernel source, eit...

I know there's been discussion on the forums about getting VMWare running on top of Puppy.
Also, there's a howto I wrote here about getting Puppy running in VMWare Server running on some other OS.
If you're not looking for VMWare, then I don't know. Maybe someone else will know more.

Problems with Broadcom 4400 network card
I'm trying to help a friend of mine get started with Puppy, but he's having trouble with his getting his Broadcom 4400 recognized. The b44 driver loads fine, but no interfaces are displayed. We're both heading to bed, but tomorrow I'll get him to post here with the output of lsmod, ifconfig -a, and ...

At my family cottage, we and two neighbours share the satellite Internet connection of one of the neighbours. The middle neighbour lives on a slight hill between our widely spaced cottages. A quintet of parabolic antennae allow the wireless signal to travel to the top of the hill where a receiver is...

http://www.icpug.org.uk/national/linnwin/step00-linnwin.htm This project takes all the guesswork out of getting a dual boot going in XP. I had to use this process to even boot Puppy, because my Toshiba M200 laptop lacks a CD/DVD drive. When I boot now I have a boot.ini DOS menu, and if I select Lin...

Yes, that's why it worked when I did a fresh boot (pfix=ram). But I've replaced some of these files. When the drivers 2.14 came with didn't work (not sure if it was me, my network, or an earlier wizard version that caused it, but it didn't work), I tried to install the newer ones. I tried copying in...

Well, a clean boot works. Why it didn't work for me back when I first tried the wizard, I have no idea. Maybe I've learned something between here and there that made me get it right. Now the real trick is getting the stock drivers and wpa_supplicant without having to reinstall the rest of my system....
