DVD Styler

RSH, My DVD Styler is v.1.8.2 which came from the now empty Debian Lucid repository. I did not know that it was gone. Unfortunately, I did not keep the .deb file. This version and others up to the current 2.1 are archived at http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdstyler/files/dvdstyler/ . However, they ...

Trying DeVeDe and another DVD authoring tool

DeVeDe is one that I haven't seen. Will try it and report back. Meanwhile, I've been having good results with DVD Styler. You can find a Debian version at http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/d ... tionDebian. I have it loaded on a full HD install of Puppy 5.2.8.

Wake on lan

Debian has a wakeonlan routine and an ethtool program that does what you want. There is a page about them at http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/122 . I forgot what they are written in, if not a regular scrip then they might require that python, perl, etc. be available for them to work. Et...

KeepNote solved on Puppy 5.2.8

Puppy friends, I was making it more difficult than necessary. Here is what worked for me on Puppy 5.2.8 full HD install: Requirements: Python (2.6.4 here), python-gtk2, python-glade2 and libgtk2.0-dev (Got all these from the Debian repository. Puppy installs them without question) and keepnote-0.7.7...

KeepNote

jemimah - Congratulations on developing saluki. What will we do when we run out of breeds to name our puppies after! It may be that KeepNote works for you because of the more modern approach of your OS. Puppyt - Docear is new to me, am looking at it now. Thanks for the tip. Another 'thank you' for m...

For us mouse-centric users

Using your mouse to launch a program that just doesn't run the way you expect? Or, one that when clicked on seems to do nothing at all?

Try running it from a terminal and it will probably give an error message that you can use to start tracking down the problem.

This Puppy (5.2.8 on a full HD install) gets to convert vinyl to CD with Audacity, edit videos with Cinelerra and Kino, write books with Lyx, handle office tasks with Libre Office and create CD envelopes with Gimp. It also handles a few Windows programs with Wine.

Am running Puppy 5.2.8 with a full install and had trouble getting Pnethood to see shares of Windows machines. I could verify the connection and shares with smbclient -NL 192.168.1.xxx in a terminal. (x's being whatever your Windows computer IP address is). As blazej posted earlier I used the termin...

Smokey01, one of the links that you gave never showed up under any permutation of searching--and it is what I needed. Thank you! Rerwin, getting added applications into a remaster is what I want. Thanks for the comment regarding that. I'll be especially watchful now for any extra effort that it may ...

Re: Can 5.2.8 Full Install Be Remastered to a Live CD?

Puppy 5.2.8 is perfect for me. I did a full install and added all the extras that I wanted (Thanks to you guys and your .pet and .sfs files!). Now I'd like to make a new live CD from my machine both for show-and-tell and new installs. Even with lots of searches and reading many forums, there are on...
