I generally consider lynx more secure since it doesn't automatically accept cookies like elinks and also cannot view pictures where elinks can also. I think it's links, not elinks, that has a graphical mode -g but I also think you can configure elinks to not accept cookies automatically. Wouldn't s...

If you use Gmail, Hotmail, etc, they know what you write in your email and IMs. Yeah, but people use email to talk to at least one other person. That's different from uploading all of your files, including the ones you don't wish to share, to a stranger.... even a stranger who gives the impression ...

The emulators are legal, the ROMs are another matter. The legend is that if you own the cart, you can use the ROM. It's probably not that simple, but it should be and in a sane world it would be.

Works for Mugabe.

Seriously though, if you're talking about kicking our politicians out of your country, good luck. I wish we could kick them out of our own.

If you could access your physical belongings at any time, by reaching into a wall-portal and pulling them through, and that portal could connect like a wormhole to any place in the universe, how much stuff would you put somewhere else? All of it? Now suppose your only choices of where to put the thi...

I don't believe publishers deserve to make money from books that can delete themselves... I feel sorry for authors that in this age of being able to publish from home, or among more options than ever, they choose to go with a monopoly that actually destroys their book. It doesn't just threaten the b...

It's a very silly thread. I don't think it will hurt anybody.

I still don't quite get the "barbarian" thing, but I think it may just have started to twinkle on to the point where I probably don't want to. It's okay, I understand...

Al Gore did have a role, but not in its invention, he helped with a national upgrade. (Those upgrades do require politics, sadly.) He never said he invented it, but that did make it look like his own "I didn't inhale." Right term, wrong politician. No idea what to say about his ventures in...

So long as the same channels we rely on for coverage of events like global wars and economic recession can exploit recovering drug addicts and turn their lifestyle into cash, that's all that really matters.
