well booted off a Ubutu linux ver 6.10 and it see's everything on my computer. My drives are actually shown on pci express bus rather than SATA. You may be right because there is nothing shown on SATA bus this raises another question is pci-express bus supported

Does puppy support SATA or SAS?

I tried puppy 2.14 on one of our Avid machines its based on HP xw8200. C & D drives dont show up, why? may be puppy doesn't support SATA? I attached an external firewire drive that doesn't show up either. I guess puppy doesnt yet support SATA or Firewire. Am I right?

Thanks guys used console to connect no error but no blinky 2 monitor console either. Browser didnt resolve anything. Added console commands to /root/bin/zd1211-connect. restarted nothing. Then tried WAG again it did find network clicked profile and then my profile NETGEAR loaded and bingo Blinky app...

I have tried rutil and wag sometimes does fetch ip from DHCP just for a secs only a few kilobites one way sometimes both ways and then nothing bite count freezes, browser resolves no addresses?

we used winxp to setup and wep key is this 0507785131 its a decimal number right converted it hex 1E442FAB and tried it with puppy didnt work. Or do I have to change it at wireless hub as well?

sorry no success

ok wlan0 botton is persistant on reboot by adding modprobe 1211b, modprobe ieeee80211_crypt and modprobe ieee80211_crypt_wep to rc.local

but still it fails to connect
lsmod shows that wep modules are loaded
rmmod usb-storage says command not found

wow cool got it working

Disabled WEP and started working obviously does not support WEP, every boot you have to do modprobe zd1211b how to make permanent so its working right after reboot. When type of security is supported in puppy 2.13, obviously cant leave our network open to everyboy.

This gives me a hope I ll wait untill you finish debugging the driver, I did everything I can couldnt get it work. Actually when I plug in my USB adapter its never actually detected, wizard always says puppy does not see any network cards active

There are 2 .inf files on cd one is autorun.inf 1kb and another is zd1211BU.inf about 15kb puppy does not accept any of these. yes did try to load windows driver with ndiswraper cant find .inf file in windows or on cd there is one .inf file on cd but puppy does not accept it. Please note that its working in windows xp without any problems. where to find that special .inf which puppy is looking for?
