Connecting to internet via broadband (Comcast)
Sometimes I can connect, but most of the time I cannot with puppy builds from Puppy 4.2,4.3, 5.0, Quirky, etc. Is this a Comcast issue or something that can be resolved on the Puppy side of things? For example I just downloaded and did a live install of Quirky 1.2 retro and can't connect to the inte...

My two computers work with all other version of puppy and with Comcast, but not with puppy 4.3 and not with a few of the modded versions of 4.2.1. Intel setup is: Zotac 9300 mini itx E7500 dual core processor connected through wired Re...

How do you get on-line with newer versions of puppy
Not sure what changes were made with the newer versions of puppy in 4.2.1 and 4.3, but where as I can get on line with comcast in California with no problems on the older versions, the newer ones just are not connecting. They do not pass test and it does not matter if you go through set up... nothin...

Thanks for efforts to help
My goal is to save only when I want to. I understand now how to turn off auto save by going into system, puppy event manager and under save session change the setting from 30 for every 30 minutes to 0 as in Never. What remains a goal is to still be able to save sometimes and for this I still need so...

I don't want Puppy to auto save sessions to hard drive
I like idea of faster boots, but one of the reasons I have liked Puppy and recommended it to others is the ability to not have anything from a session go to the hard drive or save file. This appears to have changed. If I shut down the PC without going through process or if I say no during save sessi...

Trying to be able to use DVD in Gxine
Hi, I am not sure what changes have been made since way back, but while GXine works fine back in puppy 2.14, it is not working with my set up with Dingo 4.0, 4.1 or 4.1.2. The petget manager has changed to no longer allow installs of alien packages... this makes things difficult when packages are re...

Problems with GParted Partition Manager in Dingo
Sometimes Puppy and GParted not seeing my hard drives alerts me to some issue I need to address, but.. I can't find anything wrong with the drives or cables this time and I was able to format drives with the 2.15 CE disk I had lying around.. Pmount sees all formated partitions, but does not see unfo...
