2 Sylvander: 1. I think it's not a good idea to hardcoded deleting the .XLOADED file. If everything is ok with X - maybe. But if something going wrong, then this prompt helps to bypass X starting. I know that there is ability to use pfix=nox, but standard prompt seems to be more finger-saving techno...

Does the "X seems have exited uncleanly.." message still appear the next time puppy is started? Yes. It's still here. But it's here for a little time now. Edited /usr/bin/xwin file to replace default 30 second timeout with 3 seconds one. (when "X seems have exited uncleanly.." a...

Thanks! To handle subj in my setup (boot from CD, save file on flash sda1) I have made following three steps: 1. Prevented scheduled saves by setting Save_interval=0 in Menu / System / Puppy Event Manager / Save Session; 2. Edited /etc/rc.d/rc.shutdown file and changed default behavior with this on...

Thank you, DPUP5520 for good news! There is no TrueCrypt encryption vulnerabilities info under given links was found. There are some explanations on my opinion about the links here. 1. This decryptor use memory snapshot with encrypted volume open and keys in RAM. If you let the attacker to take a sn...

And as pointed out numerous times on this forum it's too easy to wipe a user password on a windows machine, which leaves us with encrypted files which depending on the program used to encrypt them alot can also be easily crack(truecrypt was proved to be vastly unreliable for encrypting single files...

The Big Bro made some tool for its own security.. So people that know themselves as free ones may run such distro without sources with hdd physically detached and with any nv-ram chips in the system with /WE pins pulled up. ;-) As for me, I'll never use such "a black-boxed gift" from BB fo...

The same issue troubles me day by day..

Hi, All. I currently have a system without HDD, that boots from CD, then reads pupsave.2fs and pup-431.sfs files from sda1 (flash stick). Now I'm looking a way to tel the system to do not save pupsave file neither on shutdown nor periodically by a timer. Sometimes the decision to discard current ses...
