Puppy for schools

One of the things that everyone seems to be overlooking is the raspberry pi. Reducing ewaste can be solved, in some ways, by reducing demand for these large monolithic computers. Schools already have raspberry pi. All we need to do is focus on making the pi work faster and better. Teachers will shar...

I have a 17, 14, 11, 7 and 2 year old. Would not like to do it as a single parent though. Takes two incomes just to keep us afloat.

The Palm Pre with Palm webOS is "closed source (with open source components)" according to Wikipedia. From what I understand, it is Linux with WebKit as the GUI; similar to the Android concept. Not that I have anything against Google, or Microsoft, but I really hope Palm webOS succeedes. I...

I totally agree. One of the biggest problems I have shipping around the world is that I have to remove all of the accents, et cetera in the addresses so that they work in the "iso-8859-1" encoded websites. We really need to move on to "utf-8".

Todos estamos bien agradecido con todo que hace para nosotros. Como usted sabe, he tratado mantener una fórum para usare cuando la suya no está funcionando. Solo lo he tenido por uno o dos semanas. It is based on Fat Free 3.01. I had someone write me and ask for a version of Surpup for his old PC. It is funny. I work in Microsoft all day at work. We had a Microsoft laptop, but it crashed. I picked up an eeepc that was on closeout. I love the operating system (Xandros). Anyways. . .

3.01 is good I agree, the only problem is that as far as I know you can't run any of the Firefox 3 series or any other browsers which use the same libraries (such as Flock 2) on any Puppy earlier than 4.
I have no problems running Firefox 3.x on Puppy 3.01.

We can use a central database and give access to the host 2 as a remote host authorized to access the MySQL database on the host 1
This seems to be the most effective way. Would I set up a dummy database that forwards to Murga's database?

New Puppy Linux forum

I have set up an additional Puppy Linux forum, http://www.toddrichardson.com/forum/.

I would like to use the same moderators, if they are willing. It would also be nice if users kept their same names.

I can have my web host provider set up a backup forum for us if you all wish. This is his forum http://www.xnote.com/forums/. It is what he would probably set up for us. My host has always been quick and reliable, as some of the old timers can vouch for.

I know you are all talking about Debian. However, I wonder, are there any versions of Linux that have figured out how to combined usability with stability? In posing this question, I would like the reader to consider all of the distributions, not just the free ones. Has Xandros, Red Hat, or Novell f...

ToddPup 0.2 is built on the retro version of barebones 4.1.2. I hope it doesn't let you down.
