For some time I've been thinking that it wouldn't make sense to open new thread with new ISO release, since it's so easy now to build your own. But yes, I'll think about it. Building iso image with this script will make different iso versions even if the configuration is the same with some packages...

Hi musher0. DebianDog is a community project. it isn't Fred's, mine or anyone else DebianDog. We both agreed it is this forum community project and it has open source license and it is like that as far as i'm concerned. There is no need to blame anyone for the DebianDog forks and related threads sin...

Maybe there is something more to cleanup in the remaster script but I don't know what exactly. Try to use dhclient for your network i...

on a simple PC only with hard disk, you are totaly dependant from an idiotic only one directory, "live". It isn't true. Maybe you are just confused by someone who thinks porteus-boot is the best in the linux world. But even with porteus-boot you can avoid live folder name: http://murga-li...

... I would be very sorry if my DD usage/inputs have in any way damaged Puppy Linux itself - I'm sure Toni didn't and doesn't want that to happen either, but you'd have to ask him. Don't waste your time answering provocations from people like that. Just ignore them and work on what you like in publ...

Systemd is a dependency of synaptic
it's not indicated as a dependency here:
https://packages.debian.org/stretch/synaptic
It is a dependency because synaptic depends on policykit-1 which depends on libpam-systemd which depends on systemd.

duckguy , the frugal installer needs to choose XenialDog iso or casper folder. Your casper folder is on the CD. Mount the CD, choose the casper folder in the installer and it will install grub4dos and casper folder with all its content on the flash drive (or hard disk drive depending of your choice...

duckguy - since your flash drive is empty and you still have the CD boot from it and use the included frugal installer and choose grub4dos (it will install XenialDog with menu.lst and boot entries). Just make sure to choose the flash drive: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=773207&si...

How to lock-up your system after increasing tmpfs

How to lock-up your system (or prevent it) after advices to increase the tmpfs size: By default Debian, Ubuntu, Porteus limits the real RAM size mounted as tmpfs to 50-60% of your real RAM size when using no-persistent boot. This is for a good reason but Porteus for example gives option to increase...
