Re: Laptop's keyboard is unusable: NumLock is always ON.
You are pretty well right - pressing <shift><numlock> does usually nothing.zeiz wrote:Pressing Shift-NumLk does nothing.
If you want to manually switch the state of numlock then <fn><numlock> does usually the trick.
Hope that helps.

Hi niftyprose. Maybe I‘m wrong but from my point of view I don‘t think that your problem with your USB stick that don‘t like to boot your workstation has anything to do with your build-in RAID configuration, because a hardware RAID controller like the one your have from Adaptec should give all infor...

Maybe you woudn't have that problems if your drives were formatted with ext2, ext4 or fat32.juanrra242 wrote:Note:all the drives are ntfs formatted under windows.

Re: Please recommend a Puppy for use with 32 MB of RAM
I was given an old Dell Latitude laptop with a PII processor and 32MB of RAM. A perfect candidate for Puppy! Or so I thought. Puppy 5.3.1 froze when attempting to run from the Live CD, ditto 5.2.8. Wary Puppy 5.2.2 loaded from the CD and seems to be going through the normal startup routine, but I'v...

I have partitioned my laptop's hard drive with one ext3 partition and one swap partition, set the boot flag on the ext 3 partition, ran the universa...

So, after pressing the Directory button, the files should be at: /mnt/sdb, or, would they be at: /mnt/sdb1 ? Don't know whether to use the ' 1 ' after /sdb. If sdb is your flash drive, then sdb1 is the first partition of that flash drive. Since usually partitions are mounted in /mnt, you have to ch...

Repartitioned and installed Lucid Puppy but when I try to run Windows from Grub2 it wants to reinstall Windows. I let it go ahead and do the reinstall from the backup USB drive but same result. Puppy runs fine and I'd like to dump Windows but have a couple programs I'd still like to run. The hard a...

Re: Classic Pup 2145X-TOP9 creates pupsave to root by default
My Classic Pup214X-TOP9 created a pupsave at root by default. I moved it manually to the subdir where the core files(vmlinuz, initrd and pup-214X.sfs) in frugal install are found. But how do I make it search the psubdir for the pupsave file on bootup. what commands do I append to the kernel line? I ...
