Unless the chinese plan to change their attitude towars animal welfare and consumption then it will only be a matter of time before another contagion is let loose on the world. Africa has the same problem that may be how ebola gets loose. 1) The US needs to do away with using antibiotics in feedlot...

So does this all mean that with Grub4Dos, I could have an array of 10 of these: https://youtu.be/IlnskJj6LRs and boot puppy 421 from it? BTW: I just tried the thing of putting puppy in a subdirectory on an SD card and getting Grub4Dos to configure it. I am looking at this as a way to have multiple p...

The battle of the Windows zombies vs Linux nerdies is as old as Good vs Evil. You can not expect more, this social media users are raise to think that way. But hold on... Every year the same users can not wait to have in their hand on the latest I-Phone or Android. Just to try to find out where the...

You could scan (or take a high-res picture of) a schematic, then, if necessary, use mtPaint to crop the picture and/or reduce its resolution to the minimum that still shows all the details. I use mtPaint to do that all the time. Editing I will start on the left to explain: I1 and the big chain of d...

Moose, if it's any help, I'm pretty sure that the output voltage of a solar panel (at its maximum power point) doesn't vary by much between when it begins to put out usable power in the morning and when the sun is directly overhead at noon. The point of maximum power should vary very little with th...

Awesome, thanks Moose. Nominal MPP of the panel is 17 volts more or less (some variation between panels but that's a good value to begin with). My battery banks use 12v lead acid batts with one array of 24v made up of the same 12v batteries in series. Max charging voltage approx 14.4v per battery (...

Despite all those failings, that simple circuit succeeds in putting far more power into a useful load than the solar panel by itself was able to. And he does mention that it might need an inductor if the load isn't inductive. Also, I think the hysteresis provided by the feedback resistor provides a...

That's OK, I did it for youFlash wrote:but I wouldn't call the circuit crude
The pot needs to be adjusted from light level, temperature and load.
The switching of the PMOSFET is slow leading to losses.
It uses the inductance of the motor as its working inductor.
It didn't use even one 555 timer chip

Greengeek, here 's a YouTube video that explains the need to run solar panels at their maximum power point and also a cheap circuit to do it. That circuit is extremely crude. The ideas explained are good but not complete. Watch the video for the ideas and not the design. If anyone cares enough we c...

[JAVA is fading from use. The standard for JAVA did try to see to security. JavaScript also tried to see to security. Sadly it has spouted insecure features over time. Java runtime is currently required for some major uses in LibreOffice (though not for many others). Every time I want to do somethi...

Re: Cookies. Cookies. Cookies. Use our Cookies or else.
Privacy issues from using Cookies. Security issues from using Cookies. What we really need is to require reasonable Web Browser standards that do not allow for this nonsense. The W3C sets the standard for HTML. A lot of web sites violate this. Having a standard doesn't mean it will be followed. I d...
