Wow, is this something you can teach to a simple user. This function is pretty important for those of us who only use laptops.

I was unable to see any difference when I plugged in the printer. However, when I attempted to install a driver so I could print, CUPS does not see any usb printer. So now I know that I cannot print. I tried rebooting with printer connected and the usb mouse did not connect either. I used the touch ...

That's usually a kernel bug where one of the drivers doesn't handle suspend correctly. If you can hunt down which one it is then you can have it rmmod/modprobe in /etc/acpi/action/suspend.sh. The issue is with the usb printer as the lid suspend works fine as long as it is not connected. However, I h...

When I first booted up phatslacko it mounted my sd card and even allowed me to reformat it. However, when I rebooted and created a save file, it was gone and I have not found a way to make it reappear. This is the first puppy that recognized this slot at all. Any clues on how to make if work would b...

brightness
Is there any way to dim the backlight in lhp.
Or can anyone tell me how to find redshiftgui in lhp if it is available.
The screen is so bright that I have to go to a different OS in the evening for the sake of my eyes.
Thanks for any ideas.

Just a quick update I installed grub4dos on the usb slacko and now I can boot from the hard drive win 7 and several puppies on a different partitions. I do have a working usb slacko. The only issue apart from not being able to install on the hard drive is that I am unable to reduce the brightness of the screen on an aspire one 756 64 bit machine. The files on sda2 are windows files. I attempted to install lubuntu, but it also wanted to put the boo...

I would certainly support inclusion of suspend/resume as part of the standard OS. yr1945 suggested acpitool-0.5.1.2 which seems to work fine as long as I directly initiate the sleep function (I made a short cut to desktop). However, it does not respond to closing the lid. pupshutdown does not includ...

yr1945, I appreciate your response, but I have exhausted my limited skills searching for the pets you reference.
Now I need some guidance to find them.

Everything has set up very nicely in 5.2.73. Google-chrome from slacko works fine. Aisleriot, and pwidgets pets install. The only problem is how to set up suspend/resume for my laptop. I tried copying ACPI from upup, but that didn't work. I also tried to install acpi from ubuntu, but couldn't figure...
