Thank you for the reply. I think it has more to do with the new computer. The older version of Puppy has no sound also on my new computer. So I love using Puppy but now with my new computer I have no sound and the plugin keyboard does not work. I tried Lubuntu and sound and plugin keyboard works, so...

Acer 7750G sound does not work in Puppy 528
I upgraded my computer to an Acer 7750G and using Puppy 5.2.8 there is no sound. I tried all the basic installs for sound in the Puppy set up but none took.
Is there something else I can do to get sound?

Scribus to work as a replacement for Indesign
I was wrong. I found a Datamerge in Scribus. It seems to be new.

So at this point I can see nothing that Puppy Linux can not do.
I also try more programs on Wine.

Re: Does loading up software on Puppy slow Puppy down?
Thanks for the reply. And sorry for going off topic a bit here. The one and only software I have not found a replacement for is Adobe Indesign. I personally think a lot of the Adobe stuff is bloatware but Indesign is good because I am doing printing and need a datamerge to import data to make it eas...

Does loading up software on Puppy slow Puppy down?
Even though I am new, I have jettisoned the need to use Windows except for one application. I am now using Puppy 90% of the time. The question is if I start to load up applications that I am use to using like Gimp (instead of MTpaint), LibreOffice (instead of Abi), and games will it eventually slow ...

Puppy's fonts aren't as crisp as Windows'
I have installed Puppy 5.2 with ease. The whole process took under 30 minutes to configure to my the way I like it. I think Puppy is great. It runs fast and flawlessly. However, there is one small issue that I am trying to figure out. The fonts when I browse the web do not look as clear. I use Firef...
