I can't exactly see how having multiple sfs files over one file would have a significant change in speed, if any. We shall find out when we test it I presume. The new kernel should be 2.6.24 when it is released, as it is packed with _many_ new drivers.

Want an Asus Eee?

Now, as you may have noticed, the Asus eee won't be going retail in Australia, and possibly wont go retail in other parts of the world. The good part is, I may have a supplier lined up. If you would like one, just reply or PM me with your country and the model you are interested in. http://eeepc.asu...

Don't take this as if I have returned, but I had to log in to tell you this MU:
What you just did is completely absurd.

How are people on any non-*nix OS mean't to download it? That's a supreme fail you have there.

All I can say to the above replies is this: ROFLMAO. I'm sorry I ever contributed anything to Puppy Linux. I did my best to make it more structured, but it's like talking to a brick wall, except the wall gives more recognition. The bug tracker is now closed. Barry, it's all downhill from here. Enjoy.

Noone is looking at it from the global scale, only the local. Think about the fact that not every user of Puppy goes to this forum, let alone know it exists. They come on IRC with random versions that were released within consecutive months, all with similar problems, all with different fixes requir...

Try using "strip /bin/*" and "strip /usr/bin/*" and "strip /usr/local/bin/*". This should shrink the size quite a lot. You could also consider using UPX to compress the executables.

I've already converted all the .pets to .tgz, but I need a slack-desc and a slack-dep file in each of them to make them actually useful, as the first file is the description you see and the second is the files it needs aka dependencies. I need help with that.

eccentric: you could try using The Onion Router if it isn't blocked, and you could also use wget on the link, so if it drops out, you can type wget -r >link< and it will continue to download from where you left off.

Try burning a disc using imgburn (www.imgburn.com) It usually works better than Nero. And I've burnt the disc with it and it worked fine.
