Yup, you've got it there. And the confusion is no problem at all. It's not the first time ;) But are there any suggestions fo other distros, or shall I now try to get VMware to work on my computer again, to attempt a remaster? (Getting VMware up worked before, but after a reinstall of Wolvix, it com...

Uhm, I'm not the Wolven you think of. :? Wolven is a great guy, I've spoken with him on the net, and I'm using his distro daily, but I'm not the author. I actually chose my name on here before I heard about Wolvix; if I had, I'd not use a name this similiar to Wolven (notice 'v' and 'f'..). I ain't ...

And here is the Mepis one. I'll try Suse next. The nice part of these scripts is that they're easy to modify, and so people can make their own, covering their favourite distros.

Linux Mint 4.0

Ok, here's the Linux Mint script. But I would like some help to re-write this script; I feel there's something I've omitted. I will maybe add second trys like "wget [iso-link] || wget [alternate-iso-link]" in case a server's down or something, but first I'll focus on covering the eventual ...

Ah, of course. Mint, Mepis and Suse. I will do Mint, and I will at least try to do Mepis and Suse. Thanks, Geneven. I will take a closer look at the DW list too. Muggins, you're right. Ubuntu and some others aren't really dialup friendly. And it is a possibility that some has misunderstood the scrip...

Well, if you don't want to test, then you can at least suggest some distros you want me to include. Because I'm running out of ideas soon.

Yes, this is possible. But to do so, you would need the VMware Workstation, which is payware. In other words, you must buy it. Or get someone else who owns it to make a .vmx file for you, but this will be hard. It is possible to do it that way too, though.

Man, I'm starting to think I'm speaking to deaf ears. This thread's got more than 1000 views, and no one's posted any feedback. What's the point then? I'll try one more time. This is the Mandriva script, test it out. I know you can. I've been a tester of various things myself on this site, it's not ...

Come on. I can see the scripts have been downloaded some times, why don't anyone post? It really is not that hard to write if it even worked on the computer it ran on.
Anyways, here's the Gentoo script. Since I still don't know how these work, they will all look the same, until I get some feedback.

Noes! The burning script got erased even before I packed it! :(
Well, until I make it again, here's the Ubuntu 7.10 download script. Please, give some feedback, guys. It's not that hard.

OK, now it by some means works again.. This script is wierd. I'm still working on it, and I've started writing on the script to burn the iso too. I might put those two scripts together later though. Oh, and I don't really feel like uploading it again, it's just minor changes made, maybe later.

Yeah, I was meaning 1.08r2, sorry :) I've downloaded the Fat-free and booted it in VMware, which works great (for now, at least). I've even made some progress at the first script, which is for downloading Puppy 3.01 (normal version) from ibiblio.org (what's up with the "retro" iso, by the ...

Wow, Puppy advances fast in version numbers. To think I joined when it was at 1.8.0r2.. It makes me feel outdated xD

Well, thank you, Muggins. I'll maybe try to do it on my own, but the scripts will most surely be some crap.. Anyways, time to start VMWare, run Puppy and try to remaster. Oh, what's the name of the current BareBones Puppy? (I've been away for so long..)

Instux, a project I can never do alone

Hey everyone, I've got an idea. Why is it hard to sell computers with Linux pre-installed? Well, there are hundreds of Linux distros, and what if one person who buy a PC, don't want that distro? It'd be quite hard to make everyone satisfied. My idea is to make a distro that is based on some Barebone...

Time to drop in, I taught

Ok, so I've been away for quite the time. So now I taught it was on time to drop by. I'll not be here so often, but at least I'll try to get here now and then, and maybe make a post or two. Keep up the good work, I see Puppy has come far now, and will reach longer  For now, I've done a clean u...

Pizza, can't you post your configuration file, if it isn't too much work to compress it and upload  ? Or is it that the tweaking is "background-specific" so that it only looks good on your background/system? Would be nice to try out your config at Conky. P.S. Anyone that know how to ...
