Firefox Support
mbutts,
One final suggestion on my part - post your problem to the Firefox tech support forum. I'm sure your problem is not isolated, and because version 2.0.0.6 has just been recently released, you may have stumbled across a bug which was not detected during regression testing.

Firefox 2.0.0.6 Woes
Try this, which may/may not work: 1) First, check within Control Panel, and if Firefox exists in the Add/Remove Programs list of inventoried programs, uninstall it. 2) Using Windows Explorer, find the Firefox folder under C:\Program Files and physically delete it to wipe out remnants of the program ...

WhoDo, I've read your prior posts regarding this methodology and I agree it is by far the most flexible and customizable - following a building-block concept, where each UI deigner can mold their own creation apart from the "core" release. I fully support this strategy and hope this is the...

KVM Virtualization Alternative
The KVM LInux kernel component has been available since the kernel's 2.6.20 release, which *should* make it easier to seamlessly integrate into Puppy in future releases, should virtualization be a desired component in the standard release. For more info, see: http://kvm.qumranet.com/kvmwiki . Runnin...

Puppy Support
Flash, Agreed - support is a make or break variable in the equation for Dell, and if you look at the verbiage associated with these Ubuntu machines, it spells out that Dell recommends these machines for a more technical audience, who I'm sure they would prefer solve their own problems. It's also no ...

Contact Dell
Consumer demand drives business decisions at Dell, and I don't think my post will generate anywhere near the demand that Dell would require on their idea website to make this happen. Of course my post was in good humor - I hope that's still allowed here - but where the "zealots" will take ...

Liberation Fonts Release
Barry, You covered the subject well in your Developer News area for those that do not fully grasp the significance of this fonts release and the impact it will have on the community. No Worries
Relax! This is just regurgitated FUD on the part of Microsoft. OIN has a HUGE patent portfolio that they can effectively use to strike back at MS if they choose to go after open source, not to mention the fact that it is a double-jeopardy proposition for MS because it could ignite anti-trust woes fo...

Linux Kernel Scheduler
Good point! Right now even when running in memory things are a little "jittery" and moving back/forth between apps something causes a slight hesitation. There was also mention of RTOS functionality being released in one of the kernel versions, which has already been discussed elsewhere on ...
