There shouldn't be any problems, except maybe in the installation process: on my PC there's Win 7 Pro in a partition, so I've first downloaded MuseScore 2.0.1 Portable (MuseScorePortable_2.0.1.paf.exe) then installed it there under Win$. It opens up into a much larger directory, where you can then s...

Hi, tested MuseScore 2.01 Portable (Win$ version) in Puppy Precise 5.7.1 with Wine (wine-1.7.23-i486_v2.1.pet) half an hour ago: starts much faster than under Win$ (7 Pro) and also seems more responsive, sound OK, works like a charm on my Dell Latitude E6400. IMHO it's the ideal solution, not only b...

Used EasyPDF a few minutes ago, in Precise 5.5, to extract a couple pages out of a 6-page music score. It's a marvel!

Many thanks and kudos from me too - it's going to be used regularly.

Downloaded Slimboat 1.1.38, Italian localization, just minutes ago directly from their website. Running it in Puppy Precise 5.6.1 right now and posting with it, after searching the forum to see whether someone else had already tested it - and Xman had! Just for caution, I chose to place Slimboat in ...

Have been using QTWeb (www.qtweb.net) for a couple years now, mainly for its speedy startup, though not always stable. Has "anonymous browsing" and total-reset shutoff options, thus erasing all browsing data on exiting. Its portability, small size and overall simplicity make it ...

This kind of thing has been puzzling me for some time now: the same SD card, with one or another Puppy version installed, boots fine on one netbook/laptop and doesn't boot on another. Sometimes it works fine when inserted in a USB card reader and doesn't even begin booting from the onboard SD slot. ...

Testing Lupu-528, it appears that (after adding Stu90's lines, see first page of this thread) the command "flash-video" is not recognized by ROXTerm, which is the default virtual terminal, but it is by Urxvt and works normally.

Hi all, it seems that the latest versions of Flashplayer store streams in a subtler way than before, in order to make them invisible and unretrievable. Thanks to Stu90's beautiful trick, the actual name and location of these files can be obtained simply by looking at the first lines in the terminal'...

Let me first tribute a heartfelt THANK YOU to Playdayz (Larry) and all the involved developers for the absolutely amazing LuPu5.2.5. Now testing Luci 5.2.8 installed on an SD card, running on an MSI U135 Wind netbook - seems great, posting with it and with SeaMonkey 2.3 in Italian. Please provide pe...

Hi all, found this thread right now. Just for info, my Aspire One D255 runs both LuPu525 and Spup100; but no way to get an ethernet connection with LuPu525, although it has the required atl1e (or atl1c) module, even loading it by hand. On the contrary, Spup100 gets connected normally and works fine ...

Yes, very nice indeed: found it on my own about a week ago, before spotting Ray's post. It works without fuss both in the Linux and the Win$ version (under Wine) with Puppy 4.3.1, Lucid 5.2.5 and probably Quirky and Wary (not yet tested here). My Puppies all boot from CD; as suggested, I unzipped Qt...

Downloaded and MD5-checked Wary 5.0.3-beta, upgraded to it from 5.0.2-beta. Appeared to work, but the ethernet card had disappeared - neither the SNS nor the classic Network wizard could "see" it anymore (the same happened on upgrading the last Lupus): rebooting with pfix=ram all went fine...
