Thanks for all your responses. I didn’t plan to get this much involved, just report my observations, but I am involved so here goes. Nothing has been mentioned that my install procedure was wrong, and I don’t buy the flash drive theory. In my opinion, we’re going down the wrong rabbit hole. Now that...

bigpup You are doing something wrong, but need specific details on what you do. Did fresh install this AM from flash drive. Hard drive is 160GB with 4 partitions, Windows, Linux swap, Mint Cinnamon 19.3, and puppy. After Bionicpup64 8.0 was up and running from flash drive, clicked on Install icon, s...

Bionicpup64 install boots very slowly (4.5 min)
I recently downloaded and installed (full) Bionicpup64 ver 8. Very slow to boot. Thought it was corrupt CD or something I did, so downloaded again, did the checksum and burned CD. Removed first installation with PPM, and reinstalled Bionic, same issue. The issue I encountered is that from time OS se...

As promised, here are the results of the F3 test on the 32GB Flash drive. The results look far worse than expected and I am wondering if I did something incorrectly. I followed the instructions given so ????? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:/usr/local/src/f3-5.0$ ./f3read /media/azpedey/73D2-ACB0 SECTORS ok/corru...

Hi, Mike Walsh I hate to do this, but I'm gonna have to prove you wrong there... You did!! I tried a few other 4GB flash drives I had and all worked fine. At 76 yrs old I am still trying to learn, and this forum has helped. Hi, Ted Dog As a result of your post, I have downloaded, compiled, and am ru...

Hi, rcrsn51. I have found a small bit of additional info on the 32GB drive. The boot menu on the HPs5730y computer lists it as: General Udisk. Hi, cthisbear. I have two HP computers; the one listed above and other model is PROMOdc7600s/P4-650/80hnw512Kv4US. As a result, many of the items in your pos...

Another thing I ran across while searching for answers is found in the 'BUGS' forum posted by version2013. It may be of some help to you if you haven't seen it.

Hi, rcrsn51. The rapid response surprised me, and thanks. I was using Linux Mint 17.2 as it was last OS installed so is first on boot list. After your reply I switched to Puppy 6.0.2. Clicking on ISObooter performed as listed in the tutorial. Completed the process and the contents of the flash drive...

How to boot Puppy with ISObooter?
Have been trying for several days to get a bootable flash drive with Puppy Tahr 6.0.2. Using universal installer in PPM, I get "puppy_tahr_6.0.2.sps not found, dropping out to initial-ramdrive console...." when booting the flash drive, even though the file is on the drive. After doing more...

follow-up on problem
Grumpy Wolfe - thanks for the link to obtain missing files. I found most, but not all, that I needed. Still have not found the Python files that are missing. I downloaded the Gimp program from the site you suggested, installed, showed no dependencies missing, but does not run. I erased that installa...

Thanks, GrumpyWolfe, I will check out the location you suggested. I appreciate your help. I'm just trying to check out several Linux versions to see what I am happy with, so trying to get the functions I want to work.

Obtaining/installing missing dependencies UPup 4.5.8
Hello everyone. Newbie to UPup Linux, however, have been using Puppy 4.3.1 for couple months. My problem is I cannot find the missing dependencies/libraries listed after a dependency check. I wiped and reinstalled UPup 4.5.8 this morning (third try) and it runs fine with no missing dependencies. Use...
