Hey Bugman, what is that on Ronnie's left eye? Looks like some kind of worm or maybe a bit of curled hair... He's a cute cat, regardless. =)

I've been pretty good about keeping up with my Win7's updates, and have installed the newest I.E., even though I don't use it unless a website gives Opera a hassle (I can't remember the last one that has, btw.) But I must say, I have not experienced any noticeable slowdown of my PC after any of the ...

Sorry, I don't want a tablet or smart-phone's OS on my desktop, or one that looks or imitates one. This is a step backward in my opinion, but seriously, I think they're just trying to cater to lazy ass people with no gumption to actually learn how to use their computer. I would love to see these fol...

The problem is, as always with these small devices that pop up from time to time, is that it uses an ARM processor.

It's the PS3 that is PowerPC based. The Xbox 360 uses Intel Xeon processors, I believe.

An Xbox 360 would make one hell of a Linux box, if you could get it to work properly.

I'm with Bligh on this one. Puppy boots fast enough that it's not an inconvenience and same with shutdown. But then again, even on my Windows machine, I'm not terribly worried about boot times since I tend to strip out all the unnecessary driver loads that usually kill boot times.

Ahhh Geos! I used to use that on my Commodore 64 and 128. Great operating system with just the right tools for what you usually needed to do. A few years ago I picked up a Perfect Solutions Digital Notebook GR from a thrift shop. To my surprise, it wasn't an older DOS laptop, but a GEOS machine, usi...

Screensavers for 4.3?

Anyone have a pet package for a nice Screensaver set for Puppy 4.3?

Something like XScreenSaver would be wonderful.

The only real problem with an Xbox (the original black model) and linux is the 64mb of ram... but if there is a distro that could make do, it's Puppy!

I'd pick one up and stick Puppy on it, if a puplet was available.

I'm with Brymway on that! I also have 2 unused iMacs (blueberry 350mhz G3 and 400mhz G4 tower) that I would gladly put to task for testing purposes.

It would be great to bring another set of folks with "obsolete" PC's into the fold. I'm all for Puppy on Macs, if it can be done.

I'm in the same boat as you all with my newest puppy PC. It's got a crappy onboard vid card, and I want to use a Voodoo 3 with it, but I cannot get Xorg to work and that's putting a damper on things.

Any ideas what needs to be done to get these 3DFX cards working properly with Xorg, please?

Now, I could easily be wrong, but I think it works this way because it normally runs completely from ram and the drive isn't mounted so you can put in another disc, or burn one.

Sounds like a good query for the creator. :)

Have you mounted the CD rom? I think I had the same problem, and after mounting the drive, it installed perfectly. Give it a try and let us know.
