Found a Flash10 plugin at /initrd/pup_ro4/usr/lib/seamonkey/plugins/ and overwrote the file at /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/

Now I have Flash10 although the same crashing behavior described in my previous post is still present.

Hello. I added the Flash10 version to a fresh install of Puppy 4.2, but only Java appears to be installed. ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so is a symlink to /usr/lib/seamonkey-1.1.15/plugins/libflashplayer.so except that the file the symlink points to does not exist. However, libflashplayer.so do...

Ah yes, here's the best part. I read on another forum that someone discovered their card was bad by trying it in different PCs. So I went ahead and plugged the card into my Dell Inspiron 600m running Windows XP and was promptly informed that the card is a MA401RA! Thus, only WEP can be used I believ...

Thanks for your input. The forum link you gave was of immense help. Given the newfound info, here is what is happening. Removed hostap_cs from SKIPLIST and rebooted. Removed encryption from my wireless AP and successfully connected and browsed after going through Puppy's network wizard. Re-enabled e...

I have a similar problem using a Netgear MA401 rev. D card in an hp omnibook xe4100 running the latest version of Macpup Opera. Things to note: * Macpup auto-loads hostap_cs. * If I actually go so far as to edit /etc/rc.d/MODULSCONFIG and put hostap_cs in the SKIPLIST, Macpup auto-loads orinoco_cs. ...

Actually, I discovered there was a problem with my syntax. Issuing

Code: Select all

krdc rdp:/192.168.1.102:80
yields a better result but then I am notified that rdesktop is not installed, so I may look into getting a PUP for it. Worth a try though.

I have the beta 4 with the beta 4 mariner SFS and am having trouble connecting to my XP Pro-hosted RDC server using KRDC. When I go into RVXT and issue: krdc 192.168.1.102:80 the connecting dialog comes up but never does anything. I usually have to CTRL+C out from the terminal. I should note that I ...

Hello. Though I have the DotPup handler installed, I am unable to install the unrpm.undeb.pup package in the repositories available through PUPPYLINUX.ORG. I am receiving the error "MD5SUM ERROR: unrpm.undeb.pup Package may be corrupted. Not enough space to unzip?" whenever I download and ...

After reading up a bit on the Lin'N'Win articles, I decided to make Windows my first partition. To that end, these are the steps I performed: Boot off Puppy LiveCD using PFIX=RAM. Use GParted to delete /dev/sda1. Could not delete /dev/sda2 as it was locked, so I used my Windows install CD to delete ...

@Beem, Yes I did a Frugal installation (I believe; definitely not the Superfloppy) but on /dev/sda2. http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/1290/pic1pr7.th.png That's how it looked when I first clicked "Install Puppy to sda2" option. (Although it did not say Puppy was installed at that point.)...

Boot from CD with puppy pfix=ram. (you have 5 seconds to type it). In this way none of your sdx devices are mounted and try again the install grub. Thanks! So far so good. I was able to install GRUB to /dev/sda2 but upon reboot I did run into an issue, which has me thinking. But first, the issue is...

How to install GRUB after botched installation [Resolved]

EDIT 11/10/08 11:13PM GMT-6: Changed title to Resolved. Hey guys I've been here before ever since the days of Puppy 2 and I am happy to report that Puppy 4.11 shall now have a permanent home on my laptop, having overcome the bugs in 4.0 that kept me from making the leap. Normally I'd just partition ...

Muggins, you are the man! For what it's worth, I had to extract using Ark instead of Xarchive, but once extracted everything worked beautifully and Mozplugger is now in the list of Seamonkey plugins (Help -> About Plugins). dotPUP req: GNU M4 macro processor [solved]

I am a TeenPUP2008 user and have the Seamonkey issue where you can't close tabs, which the distro creator acknowledges here. After several days of Googling, I suspect this may be an issue with the Mozplugger plugin, which, if Seamonkey is run from rvxt, yields error "failed to execute m4."...

I'm assuming you've installed Puppy to the hard drive. If so, you may want to have a look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log for any errors near the bottom. If you have any, try googling based on those and also checking these forums.
