I was really glad to see Macpup picked up on my ttySL0 winmodem with no addon pets to get it working. There does seem to be a problem thou? Where it pupdial? It’s not in the m...

That is the sharpest looking menu I’ve seen since we started playing around JWM themes way back when. But, that grey taskbar has gotta go. LOL

John
I must apologize for my rather rude response to your post. I’ll admit it I jumped.
If I had slowed down and re-read your entire post again I would have realized it was meant as a hypothetical scenario? After all it was you that started the thread about “Sharing puppy apps with the World

John I think Barry should review this post. After all, MOST of the code in Legacy and all the other derivatives belong to him and is licenced under his GPL agreement. http://www.puppylinux.com/development/project-statement.htm Legal issues Concerning the licencing of Puppy. Puppy is GPL, and has bee...

I was running 4.32-002 on a full HD install before so I didn’t notice it until I totally borged puppy beyond repair.LOL This time I burned the ISO to a DVD-RW and after booting the DVD I also installed 432 to a USB stick using Puppy...

ttuuxxx Not trying to hose up your holidays here but abiword is very erratic. In the middle of typing into a document the cursor will suddenly jump to another part of the document. This is not just a 432 problem, it also happens in other recent Pups. Also copy and paste out of abiword sometimes cre...

Just in case anyone is interested, here's the menu.lst....unedited.
What a mess of a menu.lst. I would hate to see what grub4dos would create if you had two windows version (XP,W2K)on the same HD and lets say 3 other distro's beside and Puppy of course :)

ttuuxxx The Good, The Bad and The Odd Odd: I was very surprised that my ttySLO modem was found on the first boot from the live CD. This modem usually requires a second boot to be picked up on. At least that was the way rerwin configured it for some winmodems. It did take a second boot after I did a ...

smokey01 Thanks for the delta. A 37Mb file should only take about 2.5 > 3 hours coming from your site. I have been having a real bad time with large downloads from ibiblio.org and the mirrors. I get about 25Mb into a 130 Mb file and the download stops saying it’s complete :( Thanks Again: & Merr...

Re: grub4dos vs. legacy grub

if it's not included those who prefer grub will need to install Lucid and then boot something else to install Grub. Any applications someone prefer but not built in the distribution have a chance to get them from the PPM or the web. (You need not boot up another distribution.) As for the legacy gru...

The hardware clock on this computer runs on UTC and the timezone is Australia/Sydney. On bootup the clock initially shows UTC but when configured from the Gui it changes briefly to about right but then reverts to UTC. Isn't there a checkbox for Local or UTC Hardware time? That doesn't help? I don't...

JWM configuation is broke. Can't change wallpaper by clicking JWM configuation > Desktop > Desktop Background icon.
ROX has no right click option of Set As Wallpaper.
Pwallpaper background chooser works but the images must be located in /usr/share/backgrounds only.
