Re: What is X up to?

Same here Jemimah: Noticed in Beta 4 and in 4.1 on my frugal SD 701 4G., about 1 in 10 shut-downs will produce a flicker of the "X didn't close properly" screen before going on to top up the Save file and exit. Then the next cold boot-up will stop at the same screen, which I click as ignor...

I think I have a a full installation. I installed Puppeee to my SD card (3 gb partition formatted as ext2 in a 8gb card) using the universal installer from a USB. From what I just read maybe I should do a frugal installation, that way I can upgrade with only copy and paste. Is there any other advant...

Thanks Jemimah,
The current version works very nice. PDFs look good with the default program and the problem with OO Writer is gone. Videos on Youtube using Chrome still look choppy. I would like to try hibernating but I cannot find syslinux.cfg. Is not in root and I don't have a boot folder...

Hi, I'm having some weird issues when testing the installation of Open Office. I tried installing three different versions of OO and I always get the sane result: all programs in OO work fine except for the writer (I'm loading the sfs at boot). When I click in OO Writer puppy freezes and I have to r...

Jemimah,
Thanks for the new PDF program. I tried overclocking yesterday and there was no in Chrome (Youtube). Nice to see the system suspending after closing the lid. After several suspending cycles my computer crashed. I can' get Xorg or Xvesa to work...

Foxit reader solved my problems. Thanks hokal.

Jemimah: I installed Opera 9.64 as instructed here http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=28317 Is not as fast as Chrome but it does not have problems showing youtube videos, and the pages in general look much better on the 701 screen.

Thanks Jemimah. One of the old puppeee versions (2.4?) worked just fine for both youtube videos and viewing PDFs. It used a lot of power though. I'm yet to compare the use of battery in Beta 4.0. Love to have all the the function keys working. Flatmo, I'll see if I can find a better pdf viewer. Have...

Jemimah I installed the last version yesterday on my 701 4G 1Gb RAM with no problems. Youtube videos don't look good on Chrome, more frame by frame than a continuous video, audio is fine. PDFs don't good either in the default program installed, takes a long time parsing after zooming in or out, and ...
