Puppy 5 with 4 gigs of RAM?

I've got an HP Compaq d530 SFF which is running Precise Puppy 5.4.1. I know that some 32bit operating systems can only use 3GB of ram but I can max out this machine with 4GB and intend to. Will Puppy be able to use the 4GB? It sounds a bit crazy I know but I like to get the most out of old systems w...

Puppy DECTERM

I recently had the idea to bring the old VMS commands to Puppy Linux and felt like posting about the project. I started things off with the simple alias command to get it off the ground. ----- EDIT: 11:44:16 AM 11/05/12 Added a few more aliases. EDIT: 09:52:20 PM 11/04/12 Very slowly moving along wi...

I have tried using both frostwire and PCTorrent to download the data.

I have my firewall and web server turned off, but I still can't seem to download the data.

Any ideas?

On second thought maybe this will work, open up the ppm and type in liblzma1 that package should have your missing lib. Thank you, you have been allot of help. (makes me wish I could contribute more than I do) I have tried getting this to work in puppy in the past but failed. I am used to compiling...

What libs are you still missing? I may be able to just add them in for you. I only know of one at the moment. I can't seem to find it. Here's the message I get in the console: $ ease ease: error while loading shared libraries: liblzma.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory $

Wow, you're amazing! Ease is a nice app but obviously quite difficult to compile from source.

I'm searching for the libs to get it running in Lucid Puppy 5.1 and I'll be sure to post them here once I've found them all.

Can't think if any except "ease" which is not a networking app.

Surprisingly I've never heard of "Lin'N'Win". Looks like great alternative to changing the MBR.
